I was wondering what the best ways to advertise for free are. I heard that there are free ways to advertise on the internet and since I'm new to affiliate marketing i don't have very much knowledge about advertising. I would like to try free advertising but i would also like to know if free advertising is effective. I would appreciate any information on this.

Hi Micheal185, welcome to the affiliate marketing world. Here I will list down generally the free marketing you can use.
1) Article Marketing
You need to write articles related to your chosen niche. Distribute those articles into ezine directories. Don't forget to include your signature line inside the resource box.
Effectiveness : Takes a longer time to get traffic to your site. If your article provide some really helpful information with good targeted keywords in it, you can see a fast result.
2) Forum Marketing : As you can see, most people have their own signature line below their post promoting their own or affiliate product. This is one of the easiest thing to do.
Effectiveness : People will tend to click the link in your signature line if you offer some free report or newsletter. Your line should be tempting as well and not just a boring line of URL.
3) Press Release : It is simply an announcement distributed to the news media. Use it to draw attention to other types of news, like product launches. Press releases can be serious traffic generators too.
Effectiveness : Give it about 2 weeks or so for full distribution to take effect. Monitor the incoming traffic and clicks. Fact is, press releases are one of the easiest ways to get free affiliate traffic and search engine traffic (keyword-rich press release).
4) Create Viral Reports : Write a simple and short report, or mini ebook with a built-in incentive for distribution.
Effectiveness : Imagine giving away a free report to your subscribers, some of whom may run websites of their own. Those site owners then give it away to their subscribers, and so on, putting your report into the hands of hundreds (even thousands) more potential prospects. This is a serious traffic generator. I use it all the time and it works like wonder.
5) Create A Blog : Write a review of a product you are promoting and put some useful articles inside your blog. Ping your blog once you have enough information to share with other people.
Effectiveness : This is my opinion (others might disagree). Blog does not work like it use to. You need to keep on updating your blog frequently so the search engine spider will crawl your contents inside your blog. If you provide a really top notch information and update it frequently, yes, blog will surely help your affiliate business.
6) Social Networking : There are lots of social networking sites for you to provide your info to other people. This can be a huge traffic generators if you do it correctly.
Effectiveness : I personally don't use it that much because I'm still learning. But from what I heard, the results will be instantaneous if you do it right. Sorry, not much help here but it does work well.
7) Video Marketing : Create a video on your targeting niche. Try not to sell, but rather provide the viewers of shocking, interesting, funny or terrorizing videos about your niche.
Effectiveness : If your video is interesting, people will tend to forward it to their friends and so on. It works like viral. Then again, if your video is nothing but crap, nothing will happen.
Actually, there are more free ways of generating traffic. You can do it one by one and become a master of one before moving on.

Any one want to use these strategies should have good writing skills and do it one by one as he said. Once you see results using one method use the next and I'm sure you will not only get a surge of traffic but you will build a business that will last for years to come!

I agree with you Gley and I'm glad you like my idea.
By the way, downloading Allan's ebook called "77 Ways To Get Traffic nearly all FREE" would be much help as well.

Hi Michael,
All of the methods listed above are excellent! There are literally thousands of free advertising methods that you can use out there.
I would also suggest setting up a lead capture page (you can do that for free, I do) and a series of email messages to send to your leads. This lets them get to know you, you can offer them freebies and earn their trust, making them much more likely to buy from you in the future!
In my opinion, article marketing is one of the most effective advertising methods also.
Try different things, find out what works - when you first start out, it's kind of a trial and error game. You will soon find out what works best for you!

Hey guys,  it's me again.
I've been trying this method for the last 2 weeks and I've never mention it in my previous post because I'm still doing some testing. After I've done it, I manage to get 65 subscribers in one day. Let me tell you guys how I did it.
I joined several money making programs on Yahoo Groups. I participated in that community by asking and helping other people needs but I never sell anything or put a link back to my site.
Yesterday, I decided to give it a shot by providing a link into my squeeze page website in my post to the community. To my amaze, when I checked my stats this morning, 65 new subscribers were listed from that one post. Probably, this number is not that much for other people but it is still a great way of free advertising. All I need to do is providing some great value for other people.
I believe the number of subscribers will increase today.

Free methods:
Submission to SE's and directories
Article marketing
Email campaign (opt-in)
Classified ad posting
Forums, blogs and board participation
Social Bookmarking
Etc. etc.
IMO, free promotion techniques are very effective. Done properly and consistently, it will bring in traffic to your site. But what draws the line is getting TARGETED TRAFFIC. It is a bit harder to get these traffic through the free methods though.

Paid leads is definitely good. However, it will take you several testing in order to make it works wonder for you especially using Pay Per Click. Don't expect PPC will drive a huge traffic for you if you just started out. You may lose a lot of money doing so. I suggest you purchase some ebooks on Google Adwords.
Ezine advertising is also another thing you want to consider. Again like I mention before, if you just started it, you cannot run away from doing some testing of your ads.
That's why it is better to use free traffic if you are a beginner. This way, you will not lose any money at all.

| I heard not to use adsence and ppc because you lose alot of money. I also heard you can buy list of people to add to your autoresponder, is this a good idea? They say something like pay 75.00 and you get 1000.00 people or is this just another way of getting your money? |

Whatever you do, stay away from it at all cost. The people who are selling to you just want to rob your money.
When I first started out, I did try myself. After I emailed to them, I received a reply saying some harsh words to me.
Think about this, they never subscribe to be into your opt in list and they don't even know you, definitely they will feel angry at you and consider you as spammers. Put yourself in their shoes, how do you feel about it?
Again, the people who is selling these so called responsive lists are a thief.
Do it the right way. Promote your product everyday and collect their email address using your squeeze page. This may take a long time to succeed, but it is the correct way.
