I have always used .com's and have been more fond of those, but I'm considering purchasing a large number of .info's for a project that I'm working on.
Does the top level domain matter when getting ranked by Google or any of the other search engines? Does anyone have any research or theories on that?
Thanks. |

I can't think of any possible reason why the search engines would treat a .INFO differently from a .COM.
Any disadvantages would result from how people perceive your sites and how they remember them. You may lose some repeat traffic to the .COM version. _________________ Allan Gardyne

I have read in some so called gurus books that .info domains are less search engine friendly compared to .com. _________________ FREE $100 A Day Income System! |

Yeah, I heard it too. I'm not much of SEO expert, but I think I agree on it. That's why .info is way much cheaper than .com. _________________ Get your free report on How To Obtain 1000 Lists In 3 Days For Free |

That is correct. _________________ Free Software builds pages of content over time! - Claim it here

| The TLD has no affect on rankings. Matt Cutts posted on it in his blog. |
