Hi,

I was said that to sell a product well, you need to have credibility, i.e need to purchase the product, know the product well and then presell.

I wanted to presell SBI, but with reference to http://associateprograms.com/search/guide.shtml, Allen recommends beginners to subscribe to 5 P program, but if I dun start a affiliate web site, how am I going to presell SBI?

So my question is start with which affiliate program first, 5P or the one that I intend to promote.

Thanks!

Regards, Zhenhong

Yes. That's excellent advice.

The most effective way to presell SBI is to use it yourself, find out how good it is, and then - on that site or on a new one - tell other people how SBI has helped you succeed.

If you're new to Internet marketing, you'll probably find that choosing a topic you're already passionate about is the best way to go for your first site. When you've used SBI, you're likely to find yourself genuinely passionate about it, as so many people on this forum are Wink

I strongly recommend joining Ken Evoy's Five Pillar Program even if you're not planning to promote his products immediately. By doing that, you'll receive an enormous amount of excellent free advice from a highly talented marketer who knows what he's talking about.

I agree with Allan 100% on this. I belong to the 5th Pillars but haven't promoted SBi yet ... well except on this site Wink but I don't use my affiliate link here.

I am going to build a page on my current site exactly as Allan said ... telling how SBi helped me earn, and why I felt it worked better for me than anything else I tried.

To come across as credible, the majority of people need to know what they are talking about as well as be excited about the prospects and opportunities to be able to convey this well. To do that, most everyone needs to have used the product or read the ebook, tried it out so to speak.

Are you aware of http://www.sitesell.com/affiliateagreement.htm article 9.02? It stated very clearly that they will terminate your agreement if your First Purchase Sales Commission was in the bottom 20 percent of the First-Purchase Sales Commission in a year?

I am well aware of what the agreement says, and Ken's assertion of pruning the list. Smile But it hasn't happened yet so I will continue with my plan.

Insofar as promoting something you haven't tried though, do you think you will get the conversions to keep you above the bottom 20% ? I didn't, so I hadn't done anything up to now.

As Allan says what you receive from the 5P program is dynamite information regardless of what you are promoting. If you join the 5P program and at some point get terminated through lack of promoting Site Sell products....

....What have you lost?

All the best,
Larry Chamberlain.

Hi Larry,

There's nothing to lose except to inform sitesell's affiliates that dun be surprise if they get terminated from sitell.

Zhen, Ken has already done that. He has made it a prominent part of 5th Pillar newsletters over the last 6 months or so. That's one thing I do like about Sitesell ... Ken likes to keep everyone in the loop (sooner or later anyway).

But thanks Zhen for the heads up, there may be some affiliates who didn't read the newsletters ... to whom I say ... shame on you! Wink As Larry said, great information and tips!

That gives you a whole year in which to use the superb information you receive free by joining the Five Pillar program. Then you can learn how to create a successful affiliate business, and use that information to help other people and start earning your first SiteSell commissions.

Because a huge proportion of affiliates fail to take the first step when they join an affiliate program - they never actually get as far as pasting a link in a page - those 20% at the bottom probably make no sales at all. My educated guess is that you probably need only one sale to rise above that bottom 20%.

Good luck!
