I have been making a living with adsense for about 5 months now. But I would like to make even more. Anyone who's used adsense, do you think the so-called success stories about people making hundreds of thousands of dollars true? I think a lot of people make exagerated claims. If you can write thirty pages which earn three dollars a month each (ie. $90 per month) then you can probably (given time and dedication) write 2778 pages which earn three dollars a month each (ie. $8334 per month).
In one year those 2778 pages would give you an Adsense income of just over $100,000.
Actually, $3 per page per month is rather low.
If, instead, you made $30 per page per month (ie. $1 per page per day) then you'd only need to write 274 pages and you'd already be making over $100,000 per year from adsense.
Does that make it sound more straightforward?
All you need is 274 pages which make on average $1 per day each.
That's it.
If one click results in 20 cents, then each of your pages, on average, must get 5 clicks a day.
Given a 10% CTR (click-through-rate) that means each of your 274 pages needs, on average, 50 visitors a day each.
That means you need 13,700 visitors per day. Which is quite a lot by any method of calculating.
But then... higher CPC or higher CTR will all reduce this target number of 13,700.
For instance, if you increase your CTR to 20% and you find a niche which generates on average 40 cents per click, then you will only need 3425 visitors a day.

Ok the BIG question is how do you generate 3425 visitors per day? If you could generate that many visitors per day...you could make money with almost any product.

Whew! That's a really big question. Whole books have been written answering it.
I reckon the best way is to start by creating a really valuable, useful website. It helps enormously if you give visitors a reason to keep returning to your site. For example, you might publish a newsletter which alerts your readers to the latest useful information you've added to your site. The key point here is USEFUL.
To achieve thousands of visitors a day, you'd most likely do some serious keyword research to find out what phrases people are typing into search engines, and to analyze how competitive those phrases are - how hard you have to work to get well ranked for them. You can find reviews all the major keyword research tools, and a list of free ones, at KeywordWorkshop.com, which my business partner, Jay Stockwell, runs.
You'd probably buy a good book on search engine optimization.
You'd need to study various ways of getting links to your site. Perhaps you'd do something newsworthy, or at least something that people in your chosen niche would talk about. Ideally, you'd want people to voluntarily link to your sites. I own several websites where I didn't have to ask for the vast majority of the links, simply because many people, including bloggers, are on the lookout for useful resources to link to and tell people about.
So make your site one that people will want to talk about.
You'd have to do some serious research on ways to generate traffic. One place to start is my free "77 Ways to Ge Traffic" report, which every subscriber to the free Associate Programs Newsletter gets.
Regularly getting several thousand visitors a day can definitely be achieved - with a lot of hard work. Combine that knowledge with serious keyword research and research into how much advertisers are bidding for various keywords, and you shouldn't have any trouble believing that big incomes from AdSense are possible. _________________ Allan Gardyne

Not wanting to be derogatory to anyone but if I was making a living with Adsense. it seems that somewhere I was doing something right. I had it figured out.
I agree with Guzie, if I generated that much traffic to my site, I could sell almost anything.

I don't know about the claims you've read, but Yes there are people earning that amount and even more. This summer will mark my 5th anniversary with AdSense.
My advice is to learn the basics (which you seem to have done already) then focus your time on making your web site as attractive as possible to visitors.
After you learn the basics, you can waste a lot of time tweaking and testing with AdSense because so much of what happens is out of your control.
And it's not just about producing more and more pages. Almost 50% of my income comes from one page. It's a popular page people keep coming back to for the latest information on the topic. _________________ Bobby

TRAFFIC is the keyword here. I know it sounds pretty hard to increase your daily traffic but ongoing promotions are vital for your adsense's success.
I read few successful people that earn over USD$2,000 monthly from adsense and they have over 10,000 visitors daily or 300,000 monthly. If you have that kind of traffic and a keyword that pays high i would think you would make more money off some affiliate programs than adsense. Yes people are making really good money with Adsense. However, my advice is do not purely depend on Adsense. Diversify and seek other avenues to make money such as selling your own product, affiliate marketing etc.
