Hi Eric,
the Advantage of text is:
- more people can handle it with their mail client
- they trust it more than HTML messages (spammers mostly use HTML only messages)
- your message is pure - only the message you want to bring over
The advantage of HTML is:
- you can check the open rate
- you have more possibilities to design your message
- you can make hyperlinks with differnt link text
I have decided to use HTML now, because the advantage to test my open rate is a great benefit to me. _________________ Just COPY the system from Ewen Chia. http://www.AffiliateKickstart.com

Thanks for the info,
As I use aweber I should use both way, I will get
the best of the both....
Do you know anything to take care of, if I use HTML in aweber or there HTML editor is ok?
Thanks! _________________ -=Eric=-

Do both. If you are using aweber then it is a simple a copy paste the text into the html section.
Then you can use their wysiwyg to style up the html version.
It take just a couple more minutes but is worth it. _________________ Business Owners Guide to Going Online What every business owner needs to know about going online |

Depends on your purpose. Most of the professional email I get is HTML.
You could spend some time at aWeber reading their tutorials and articles and get a better feel for what would work best in your own unique situation. _________________

I send all of my newsletters in HTML and Plain Text format.
That way, the reader can view the newsletter in their own preferred format.
HTML newsletters have slightly higher risk of getting caught up in spam filters but you can use HTML formatting to make them easier to read and conceal affiliate links.
Plain text messages are more likely to get through to the end user but IMO they are harder to read but you can use some simple layout techniques to increase readability.
Plus, with HTML newsletters you can also track open rates etc.

Use both - but when you use HTML, make sure you put good ALT tags in the images.
A lot of email programs don't show the images unless you click 'download images'. You can use the ALT tags to entice them to download the images.
This can be very effective and I use it all the time! |

Hi ericoue,
If it is for the purpose of sending mail, I'd be more inclined to use plain text. You see, text is what you use when you communicate with your friends and family, so if you're communicating with your list, you want to keep that same closeness with the persons in it. After all, they're also your friends!
Shall you opt for HTML instead, keep the graphics and effects to a minimum, unless what you're mailing is a newsletter. In this case, you do require to use the most of what HTML allows you to. _________________ Jose Perez

The best solution if you want to send an HTML email is to send a text version attached. The plain text version will appear in the HTML version can not load.In This way you will have the advantage of showing colors, graphics and format that they can see without prohibiting their other users to read the message. _________________ psd to magento |

I really like this topic. If I asked than I will choose the text email rather than using fancy html format because text is simple & much easier to read than. _________________ Pumps |
