Alright, maybe some of you read my thread on website security in the general forum. If you haven't, well basically my hosting company was crap.
Because of their poor service, I've lost 100% of my online revenue.
So I'm looking elsewhere for a more professional solution than the cheapo hosting services. But all I keep getting in my searches are these cheap hosting companies.
I'm going to keep up my search, but could you guys and gals help me out with some recommendations in the meantime? Would really appreciate it.

They are mostly all cheap. Hosting has gone down dramtically and there are hundreds of good people in the business.
Don't let price, or lack of price, be your judge of a company.
I have also suffered from a totally trashed online business. Great server company I was told after buying a $ 4,000 program. Less than 9 months later the harddrive was trashed. All I got was a shrug of their shoulders. "What about those backups?" Sorry!
At that time I was paying about $ 100 a month and see what I got.
That was one of the reasons I went into the hosting business myself. I found a supplier with over 10,000 customers and never the first case of hacking.
I have learned to keep a copy of everything on my PC, that way I'll never have to start from scratch again.
Stuff does happen. And even with my current server company, there is a chance that someone with enough determination will sneak in. To think it can't happen is unrealistic.
So, pick someone you are comfortable with - but make backups on your own.

I use Hostgator and I am very happy with the service and security. They install updated Wordpress software as standard and that is very useful. I went to hostagator after a bad experience with another web host and I have not regretted the choice.

Most hosting companies prices went down over last 2 years. Make sure to get enough space but transfer is more important in my mind. If your site is popular and you need to buy more transfer all the time you will wind up paying alot more money.
Anything under $4 a month will not work for sites with good traffic. Packages under that price do not have enough transfer.
Do you need hosting or a dedicated server.
