In a recent newsletter from Allan there was a sponsor ad for Webmaster Lagoon

This appears to be a Webmaster's Dream as it virtually automates the task of getting backlinks, however I am wondering whether Google would treat it as a Link Farm and penalize any sites using it.

Does anyone have any experience of it?

I haven't tried it. It's not really my style, but if I was going to try it any automated method of getting links I'd do so on a website which wasn't important to me and on a website that wasn't obviously connected to any other websites I owned.
