I think it is better to submit the articles manually. If it seems to be a big time consuming affair, then go for the article submission services. They manually submit the articles on behalf of you. You can check for the services like articlemarketer and isnare.

I also submit my articles manually. There are a lot of online services that will allow you to send them for free, so you might want to check those out. For example, on occasion I'll use Article Sender to blast submit my articles to multiple places. Depends on how lazy I get.

I like to use a program called "fireform" for firefox. It is a free program that fills all the information for you automatically, but you can go back and edit it manually thereafter.
it saves a ton of time, and gets the best results of anything I've ever used. Not as much time as a auto submitter, but it has waaaaay better results.
I get aa very high acceptance rate. Close to 100% probably over a period of 3 or 4 months.

I have used Article Submitter Pro in the past and it worked great. From a time savings standpoint I now use SubmitYourArticle.com and use their Article Leverage Program which works great.

I use Article Post Robot. But recently, there has been some talks about how mass submission may not be good because having hundreds of backlinks pointing back to your site may be perceived as spamming by the search engines. Anyone who can clarify this?
So some marketers simply submit to a few of the top article directories.

I like articlemarketer.com for building back links. They even submit articles for me in pr5 ranked sites. Though I find I get the most traffic from manual submissions.

I like articlemarketer.com for building back links. They even submit articles for me in pr5 ranked sites. Though I find I get the most traffic from manual submissions to sites that articlemarketer.com doesn't cover.
