Does anyone know if I need to do anything special for my newly opened forum to get spidered, or if it happens automatically. I dont even know how or if i need to put in any meta tags.
My new forum board is similar to this in set up. I do have it promoted on my pet/health site, and my blog, .. anything else I can do? Sometimes I feel like I am getting ahead of the game, and then I find out I know nothing!!!

Hi Ruth
If you have good URL structure you should have no problem getting your forum indexed. Make sure to stay away from characters like ? () %$ = . If you have any of those, it might be a little harder for the search engines to index your forum pages. And some of your URLs might not be search engine friendly at all.
Allan re-did his forum to make it more search engine friendly.

It depends what forum you're using. Most forums have add-ons or hacks for SE friendly URLs. PphBB does have one too, usually you just need edit a few files (or replce them in case of a fresh install). You can find them in forums for whichever software (for example http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/).
