Does anyone know if I need to do anything special for my newly opened forum to get spidered, or if it happens automatically. I dont even know how or if i need to put in any meta tags.
My new forum board is similar to this in set up. I do have it promoted on my pet/health site, and my blog, .. anything else I can do? Sometimes I feel like I am getting ahead of the game, and then I find out I know nothing!!!
Thanks, _________________ Omega 3, Can you live without it?

Hi Ruth
If you have good URL structure you should have no problem getting your forum indexed. Make sure to stay away from characters like ? () %$ = . If you have any of those, it might be a little harder for the search engines to index your forum pages. And some of your URLs might not be search engine friendly at all.
Allan re-did his forum to make it more search engine friendly. _________________ 2009 Insider Secrets

It depends what forum you're using. Most forums have add-ons or hacks for SE friendly URLs. PphBB does have one too, usually you just need edit a few files (or replce them in case of a fresh install). You can find them in forums for whichever software (for example http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/). _________________ - Svato
