I finished my first Martell site early in february.

I have around 120-130 pages of content.
133 backlinks according to Yahoo
I'm in the DMOZ directory.
200 visitors per day.
I have a PR4

But, I made on average $100 last months (jan, feb) and $0 this month.
I'm far from the excepted $500 Sad

So what do you think for me is the next step to improve my site?

Thanks for your feedback,

ST

Steve,
It is far to early to predict how much income you will make from this site. I would say what you have done so far is exceptional for how young this site is.

My recommendation is to either keep adding content to this site, or start another site right now. What I see is that many times people build one site, and then sit around and watch it. Eventually it springs into high gear, but in the meantime, they have not been building anything else.

It really sounds like you are doing great. Not sure about the zero income for this month. Are you running adsense? Is your site seasonal? Could be lots of things.

Hi Steve,

200 visitors per day is great. Do you have Adsense on your pages? I would find it hard to believe that you haven't made any Adsense money this month with 200 visitors a day.

Hi,

I m not doing fine with Adsense for the moment, I make an average of $1.76 a day. I'm building a second website with better Adsense profitability.
I hope april will be a better month, wish me luck Smile

Hi,

Very impressive job on your 1st site,

I'd stick it out a bit longer and get up to
250 pages, then when your site matures
you'll make that much more money.

If you want to just about guarantee $500+
a month make each site at least 500 pages.

Choose 3 or 4 word keyword phrases to target
your customer more and they should click
through adsense more.

My site is seasonal for the winter which
is ending, I'm getting a little over 200 visitors
per day, making $10.00 a day. I will double
my pages by next winter.

Add more content.

Jeremy

Steve,
Congrats on your site and on seeing some money! You`re probably further along than many in this game.

Reminds me of the famed Magellan fund-manager Peter Lynch ("One up on Wall Street" - great book) who classified stocks into I think six main categories - slow growers, stalwarts, fast growers, cyclicals, turnarounds and asset plays.

I believe the advice you are getting to keep adding content and to build more sites is right on - and it may also be an interesting motivational challenge to classify your various sites into the affiliate marketers equivalent of what Peter Lynch did.

Even the pages or products within a given site could be classified in a similar manner - and if you have the tracking tools to measure what cash is being delivered or conversion rate etc, makes it a real business with reportable results.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone,

I will just do that build more content. I have a few ideas for articles.
But how you go about writing 500 pages on one single theme ?
I use the method in the Gary Antosh books even with that I don't see on I will add 150 articles on a single theme.

I also replaced Adsense Adblock by Adsense Adlink, I make far more now, 5 times more.

Hi everyone!

I just finished my martell site, and I'm very new, so I just wonder that if I add the adsense code onto my site, will it get spidered automatically by Google? Cos I read in google's page that once the ads become relevant, it means that the site has been spidered.

Now my site is showing relevant ads and I'm wondering if that automatically gets it indexed sometime in the future/. I have adsense code in all my articles and submitting all of them can be tedious. Is there a method I can use to make my page get spidered and indexed quickly?

Another new feature that came out from google is the google sitemaps. I read in some reviews that it's supposedly very good in getting a site indexed quickly. Do you think that it will work well for martell sites?

Best Regards,
Kenneth

Google Adsense (MediaBot) spider is not the same as the spider they use for the SERP (googleBot).
So you will not get spireded faster by the GoogleBot, one of my site use the new google xml-sitemap protocol, it doesnt change anything.

Kenneth,
If you read the Message Board Use Instructions, you will be advised NOT to run duplicate messages as this fragments the discussion. Your two similar messages fit that category and did just that. Try to avoid the problem in future.

Keep going dont give up.. add more content and get started on your next site.

Or test a bit of PPC on the site

also be sure to include a opt in form, that way you have repeat customers.

Hi Jon,

I read your blog today, and I liked it alot,
I like your positive attitude.

I signed up for your newletter, looking forward
to reading the 9 part course.

Your affiliate income is very impressive,
mine is mostly from adsense,
I never thought too much about PPC.

I glanced in the PPC section, and see many
people have trouble with PPC.

But after reading about you, I will look into
it.

You seem to have developed a PPC system
for affiliate marketers.

Smile

Remember - some pages might convert better without adsense.
Merchant text links sometimes are better - so you might want to consider testing this on some pages with traffic.

Cheers,

Update about my site:

My traffic fluctuate wildly between 500-1200 visitors/day, from time to time a very popular site will link to me and I will have jump into my traffic. I had 750 visitors yesterday.

I made + $600 USD this month, Adsense now is working for me , I m above the symbolic mark of $10 a day. My goal is to reach $20 a day.( any tips ?)

I still have the same number of pages but I have top ranking for a larger number of keywords. I plan to add +100 pages in the coming weeks.

I also started a new website in a more profitable niche.
