Hey Steve,

That's great. Now you see that it works.

Now make more websites, what if you had
10 sites making $600 a month, that's $6,000
a month. Very Happy

Organize 3 sites at the same time.
You see now that sites can take up to
half a year before they make money,
that's why it is good to make more than
one site at a time.

Congrats on your success $600 Smile

Steve,

Have you incorporated.

If not, you might want to do that before
hiring writers, so you get some of the money
back.

If you don't need the money from adsense yet,
you can check the hold payment button in adsense.

Then after you incorporate give them the new
payee name, (who they pay the check to) and tax number, ask them to pay you, now that
money will not be taxed as personal income but taxed
less as a business expense.

I did this with adsense, worked very smoothly. Very Happy

I've gotta recommend Gary Antosh's e-books on this, they're great.

You can still deduct expenses for hiring writers as both a sole proprietor and a corporation, I've done both.

This didn't work for me when going from a personal Adsense account to a business Adsense account. I had to create an entire new account in order to change my payee information from my personal name to my corporation's name.

I'd ask Google first, it sounds like it's different for every situation.

I was lucky these 3 last days, I made last-minutes sales.
I close July with $735 Wink for just one single site of about 130 pages, traffic for july was 14450 visitors.
Martell theory is right...

Well, I am now 18 months busy making 3 sites the Martell way which are online one year now. Have 40 to 70 backlinks from on-topic sites on each of my sites. I am continuously adding content for months now. I am using James' latest keyword rules and site structures.
But still not much of an income. 2 sites are 130 articles long and make 50 USD/month. (CJ+Adsense). 1 Site is 284 articles long and makes 220USD/month (CJ+Adsense). I've thorougly investigated industries and keywords and thought I found the best possible combination of potential and well paying keywords. I am not using any tricks for which I could be punished by the SE's, just plain coding. 18 months later and after investing thousands of bucks on writers and targeted backlink campaigns I have no clue what I did wrong. Confused

What is your traffic ?

In march 2005, I had about 6400 visitors on my site and I made 0 dollars in commissions.

I reached the critical point to make commissions in my niche in june. (9000 visitors), I made $400 that month.

In my niche I make an average of $50 a commission. The highest I can get is $66 from one of my merchant. I need a mere 14 sales to reach $700.

I'm not sure 50-70 backlinks is enough, I have about 1020 backlinks for just one site!!!

I think it is good to start a blog on your sites, I use Wordpress and S9y.org , if you have a quality weblog , you will get a lot of quality links, you will be crawled more by the SEs. Some people have included my site in their blogrolls, I have the SEs daily coming to my site.

Don't focus just on the # of backlinks, but the quality of them. If you follow Martell, you should know he relies less and less on link exchanges, but more on the PAD technique.

Steve, by the way, congratulations with your breakthrough! Very Happy
According to James' manual I should be making a lot more than I do now. He is nowhere mentioning that I should have hundreds of backlinks, let alone the 1000+ backlinks you seem to have gathered. He suggests in the AMH 25-30 backlinks of reasonable quality (focused and PR4 or higher) and slowly adding more over time, which I have and which I do.

To be honest I am not too far from what you call the critical point. My best site has around 6000 hits/month (July) but it took me 18 months of daily hard labour to get there.

Thanks for the tip on the blog. I'll certainly look into that. But doesn't a blog need a lot of maintenance, so won't it prevent you from moving on to getting more sites? If things ever takes off I want to make about 10 more sites to spread the risks a bit. I thought James avoids introducing blogs and forums in his sites exactly because of the maintenance that goes into it!

I tried PAD, but no one was willing to publish the articles Shocked that I thought were interesting enough and written by an excellent writer. James acknowledged in the latest Buzz that some of his students find the PAD method too difficult and he shimmered through that they were still OK with the old linkexchange.

I don't do a lot of links exchange, but, because, some of my content is on my blog, I have other sites using my articles via RSS feed, those sites also send me traffic and increase my link popularity.

I started a new site with Wordpress lately , I wrote one article
submitted the updated blog at http://www.pingomatic.com
A few days, later, I had 12 new backlinks , from various sites using rss feed.

Also, once, you have a dozen of articles in your blog you can submit to high pagerank blog directories such as Blogstreet, blogline, etc....

See the list : http://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/

If you have no time to write article to your blog, you can use a tool like rss2blog, that will post new articles in your blog and keep it fresh, the tool cost $250 I personally dont use itn but many people are happy with it, see : http://www.andrechaperon.com/2005/07/how-to-use-datafeeds-to-automatically-build-a-blog/

Once, you are in high pR blog directories and you have created enough backlinks, you just have to do one post a month in the blog or even less. I post once a month or less in my blog. I think working with blogs is a good alternative to PAD articles.

Have you looked at the 2005 version of the e-book (free upgrade)? I believe James' changes his stance on some of these items.

Either the articles aren't long enough (try 800-1000 word minimum), the quality of them isn't good, or you're simply not approaching other websites the right way. Also, try posting them in article banks as well.

Thanks

If you use the lastest version of Wordpress , it will automatically ping for you each time you do a new post, you can add sites to auto-ping in the wordpress control panel, you can also use a plug-in that will generate a google sitemap protocol file
( http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/docs/en/protocol.html ) and it will be submitted at each update of your blog.
