Ok,
I read on one of the other posts, that a web site was getting 500 hits a day, and that site was using 8000 different keyword, phrases...
Now my question, most of the meta tag optimizers tell you to have apprx 200 choracters I think it is.
So how would that work..?
I did have 2 of my sites listed fairly high. Actually, 1 of my sites was on page 1 of google search, but it was for "mentors in motion", and no one looking for a home business would use that phrase to search, so it really did me no good.
I have, from another site, my dog therapy page, listed on one of googles 3rd search page. But again, it didnt do me any good....
So I am a little confused here. If I optimize for keywords not much searched, I dont get traffic, I get really good standing.
And if I use keywords high on the search list, I dont get standing, and no traffic either.

The key is to find a happy medium, phrases which aren't too competitive and that you can succeed with.
The more good links you get to your site from sites in your industry that have lots of links to them, the more likely it is that your pages will rank well in search engines.

By the way, meta tags are probably one of the least important factors when it comes to optimizing a page for search engines. They used to be important several years ago until they're usage was abused.
You need keyword-rich words on the page for the search engines to find, and links to your site, preferably with your keywords in the anchor text - the words people click on.
One of the most important places to put your keywords is in your title. I had look at the title of your main page and it says: www.mimfreedom.com
Unfortunately, NO ONE is going to type "www.mimfreedom.com" into a search engine - except you and your family, perhaps

First, I didnt realize that meta tags were no longer important. I have been trying to have optimized tags for all my pages. Wow, Thanks for that info.
As for the title, I fixed that. Must have been a copy/paste error. Glad you noticed it.

When it comes to web pages, some things are very strange. As I mentioned before, I have one site come up on the first page of a google search, and I have no idea how it got there Others I struggle with, and I am lucky if I even get them listed. Oh well, Life is tough
It's kind of like baking a cake, and then you lose the recipe...
Thanks for everyone's help...

I still keep my meta tags in place... but I don't worry about them much anymore... I still subscribe to the mindset that they should be there... but I don't really place any importance on them. I think Yahoo still uses them... and some of the itty-bitty SE's... Google ignores them. _________________ Eric D. Burdo They Made $6,513 a day With Clickbank Doing This...
