What do you think is the most effient Google Adwords Position? I read that the first position actually may be the most bang for your buck, but I question that source as I think maybe position 3 or 4 would be better. _________________ www.BigIslandDelights.com Cookies |

The best way to find out what works well for your particular campaign is to test everything and track your results.
Best of luck to you! |

Yes, of course the best way is to test and track.
I have Perry Marshall's report on my computer. According to the report, the most profitable range is from position 4 to 7, 7 being the most profitable. _________________ Gerardas Norkus

There are no hard and fast rules, but here's some ideas...
1. Often #2 will get at least as much traffic as #1 anywhere.
2. If you want to get traffic from top partners other than Google search, you might have to go as high as #2. Test and see.
3. If you are only interested in Google (as opposed to other syndicated partners), the ad itself will probably have more effect on CTRs than it's position.
Basically, you need to test and decide whether the broader traffic works or just Google search. Secondly, it all comes down to scaling the profits...
Assuming you can handle the traffic, the ultimate best scenario will probably involve larger volumes with a lower profit margin (assuming you are able to measure it directly).
The important thing is to carefully set up your ad groups so you can test and make changes easily. That and split testing ads all the time.
I suggest you grab Andrew Goodman's or Perry Marshall's book.
Hope this helps,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."

I prefer within the top three positions because then you are guaranteed to be seen during the search, even if the searcher doesn't scroll down.
But remember, just because you're ranked # 1 doesn't mean you're making money. It's all about finding a balance between cost and revenue...which as we all know, is the tricky part |

I've read that it's best to avoid the very top 2 or 3 positions on a page. That is because you will get too many "click happy" people clicking on your ad if you are that high on the page. They will click without thinking about it and without having any intention of buying anything. _________________ Free 5-day email tutorial on Google AdWords.
