Here's an interesting article concerning Google and keeping track of your searches. Cookies are also mentioned. It's interesting from the standpoint that many affiliate programs depend on cookies and articles like this may or may not cause computer users to disable cookies.

Well at least that writer made the connection that the personally identifiable info is in the hands of your ISP and not Google, although he did make some attempt to obscure that later.
Your ISP not only can identify the ip you had at a given point in time, but also every page you visited ... Google isn't needed for that; so any paranoia over the article is misdirected in my opinion.

If you think that is scarey, read this one on Google/Adwords and click fraud. It will scare your pants off if you think of what could happen to your adsense revenue
