Do you mean that a blog is just like a note book where you keep notes?

I have been seraching for the definition for sometime now.

Yes, you can look at it that way. There are thousands of blogs that are journals, and diaries of their respective owners.

On the other hand, you can use it as a platform for your photos, videos, audios, articles, thoughts, perspectives, tips, encouraging comments/feedback from your subscribers etc.

You can either get a seperate website for blog or on a section in any of your existing site .. doenst matter...

You're welcome, Walsworth - Varun is right on track.

Here are your options:

1. Occupies the entire site (or domain).
eg. www.shermanhu.com

2. Occupies 'one section' or a sub-directory of your site (or domain).
eg. www.wordpresstutorials.com/blog

3. Occupies a sub-domain of your site (or domain).
eg. http://videocasting.wordpresstutorials.com
