Overture reviews new keyword ad submissions yet AdWords seems to accept them automatically as long as the basic submission criteria is met.

Has anyone noticed this resulting in an advantage for either Overture or AdWords for relevance of ads or other factors?

With Overture, as long as you set up a page or have a few keywords on the page regarding the keyword your wanting to bid on, you will be accepted.

If you're bidding on off the wall topics for a targeted Adword, those clicks are just money coming straight out of your pocket anyway. I always do my homework when setting up a pay-per-click campaign.

Spending the time to do it right the first time (picking targeting keywords, good titles and descriptions, landing pages optimized, etc...) equates to better traffic, results and ultimately conversions, not so much their editorial guidelines regarding relevance.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "off the wall topics for a targeted AdWord", but since I started this thread - http://associateprograms.com/discus/ftopic8289.html just two days ago, I've been doing some testing using AdWords and another advertising service. Two days sure isn't long enough to form an opinion, but I like what's happening so far.

In the thread you posted, you are talking about Adsense and relevancy. It sounded like you were talking about Adwords in this thread.

When I said "off the wall topics" I'm talking about keywords you're bidding on. If you're setting up a campaign (Overture or Adwords), you don't want to start bidding on "Internet Marketing" when your site is about Shoes.
