I have a few questions if you have used them.
Host4Profit.com
1) How is their autoresponder package?
2) How is their mailing list package?
3) How good is their "multiple accounts for $5" deal?
SBI! Can you add extra domains? IE extra websites, or do you need multiple accounts to get the multiple domains. I don't want to point 3 domains to one website, I want 3 different websites. Would I need three accounts?
My current hosting package is great, but it doesn't have the autoresponders or the mailing lists. And it is $20 per year for multiple domains, plus I have to use htaccess methods to "redirect" the different domains to different sites. _________________ Eric D. Burdo

I use Host4 Profit, and can't say anything bad about them.
I haven't tried their mailing system etc.
But yes you only pay $5 per extra domain/month.
One satisfied customer here form them. _________________ Strive for the best, but prepare for the worst. |

Homestead is only $2 per month, with a $10 up front registration fee.
Again, that is for newbies also. The thought of registering a domain for $34 or $60 erks me, when I can register it for 8.95 per year.

Yes, for that you would need three accounts. Site Build It! is a suite of tools that includes keyword brainstorming, web hosting, a domain name, site promotion, tracking rankings, good stats, site-building, newsletter mail-out, pay-per-click management, etc in the package. You get a lot for your money. _________________ Allan Gardyne

If anyone has any more to add, please feel free.
I think I will stay with my current provider for another month or so. Then (when I can afford some changes) I will buy a SBI! account for one of my websites. And slowly move them over as I can afford it. I have at least one website that will not be moving to SBI!. It is a programming resource website, and w/put the FTP access, I have hundreds of pages to put in by hand. :(
But for my other sites (those designed to produce income) I think SBI! is at least worth a trial.
Thank you again for the info... _________________ Eric D. Burdo

IMHO, if you can't build a site on your own, I don't think you should be building them. Learn the trade, then try to make money off of it. _________________ http://www.fastfinancialfreedom.org - financial freedom is a myth (check out my brother's site)

First, ignore the last message that says don't build a site if you don't know how. You'll never learn anything if you're afraid to make mistakes.
Instead, go build a site, make lots of mistakes, and LEARN FROM THEM.
I've built some really bad sites, each one a little less horrible than the last, but I've been learning a ton just by doing it and going through the process.
My newest site is currently in progress, and I'm using SBI to build it. I've learned more in a few MONTHS using Site Build It about HOW to make a successful site than I had over the previous five YEARS of trying to build websites.
My site isn't ready yet, but what I'm learning about HELPING people instead of SELLING to them (this one was a huge paradigm shift), keyword research, keyword optimization, etc., is far and above the best benefit of using SBI. That knowledge will stay with me forever (modified by staying in touch with evolving trends and strategies), whether I use SBI for future sites or not.
I haven't used Host4Profit, but I did a quick scan of the features available, and none of them include keyword research, keyword optimization, keyword page analysis, etc. -- all of which are INTEGRATED into SBI, and all of which are VITAL to your site's success. Also, the price difference is negligible.
ANY company can HOST your site -- SBI teaches you, STEP-BY-STEP, how to create a successful site. Believe me, I've created several sites on my own before SBI, and they're going nowhere. I plan on totally redesigning those sites based on what I've learned from my new SBI site.
Good luck with your new site!
Dan

It not only works wonderfully, it helps make you feel good about what you're doing with your business and your life.

Simply sign up an account with both of them and even other choices at the same time to get the first-hand experience by yourself. This is the simplest yet most reliable solution. _________________ Http://www.1-mlm-web-hosting.biz :

I agree with the shift to helping ... I enjoy working on my sites so much more now than I used to ... took me awhile though to get away from that "selling" attitude
I also agree that you have to get in and get your hands dirty. You learn more doing and making mistakes, than you do just reading all the time. Not to mention, if you read all the time, when are you going to finally decide you learned enough and do?
Eric, SBI is more a comprehensive package, than just hosting, as I am sure you have seen in a variety of posts. Your webmaster site might not be a good fit for SBI or vice versa. SBI isn't for everyone, or every site. But for creating content rich information sites without the hassle of programming scripts, buying features, search engine tracking, optimization, etc. it really can't be beat in my opinion.

I have my criticisms of SBI! (and have aired them in other posts), but at the end of the day, comparing SBI with a web host is like comparing outsourced business service (which happen to include shop rental) with shop rental on it's own.
If I were Ken Evoy, I'd be (more than a bit) frustated that people still think of SBI as "hosting with options". Surely SBI's strength lies in it's method more than it's hosting characteristics - especially for the technophobes.
All the best,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."

After purchasing SBI, I have to agree with you Charlie.
Its like comparing apples to bricks. There really isn't a comparison from the hosting viewpoint. _________________ Eric D. Burdo

Not unless something has changed recently.
