Post subject: Passing PR from site to site
|
|
|
Hi
Because of a hosting deal I have secured a one way link from 800 pages (in a footer) from a PR6 site. Most pages have a PR6 or 5 and the lowest is 4. One all the pages have about 2 other outbound links. Does anyone have an idea what I can expect this will do about my own PR.
I ask this question because I'm also negotiating with a PR7 site and this sort of sites use a lot of traffic, so I have to buy additional bandwith.
The deal is that I host these sites for free in exchange for the link.
So it comes to a simple calculation ...is it worth the trouble
Merry Christmas to every one!!!!

I think rustybrick has a tool for those calculations. Google it. _________________ Gift Shopping ** Share Our Revenue |

Here is a tool for estimating the effect of an incoming link on your page's PR:
PageRank Calculator
I think 800 pages are beyond the tools parameters but you can get a general sense of the effect of high PR incoming links for some of your pages.
Be careful of your ROS site "purchase" since there is some debate as to whether this causes overoptimization penalties. Not sure if it does since there is no crosslinking involved... _________________ Search With Blingo Google and Win Prizes
