Post subject: AdSense site rules

Why does Google not let you use AdSense on a gambling-related site? There are plenty of gambling advertisers running AdWord ads!
Well, Google makes the rules. More to the point of my post, does anyone have a sense of whether or not it's acceptable to them to have one or two gambling-related pages out of a site of hundreds of pages?
I'm building a sports-related site. It will cover all aspects of this particular sport. At present I'm planning on having two pages devoted to betting on that sport and linking to affiliate merchants who offer online betting services.
Any thoughts or advice? _________________ Steve Smith |

Maybe they have reason to believe it will generate problems.
Or maybe they are just being politically correct. eBay does that with some of their policies. Who knows?

The way I read their policy, they don't want gambling content anywhere on the site.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
" Site Content
Site may not include:
Excessive profanity
Violence, racial intolerance, or advocate against any individual, group, or organization
Hacking/cracking content
Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia
Pornography, adult, or mature content
Gambling or casino-related content "

I understand that some gambling affiliate programs can be lucrative.
On the other hand, I know AdSense is lucrative.
I'd contact AdSense and ask them to clarify whether it's OK to have some gambling related content pages on your site as long as your AdSense ads appear only on non-gambling related content pages.
If they object, I'd forget about the gambling pages and enjoy the AdSense revenue from the other pages.

If you're determined to do this, perhaps you could buy the .NET version of your domain name and create a gambling mini-site, which you link to from your main site. _________________ Allan Gardyne

One thing to keep in mind is that Google Adsense might not even display Gambling Ads on your site because of their policy. _________________ Robert
