Hi all
I recently stumbled across affiliate marketing and think this is just it. Now I want to quit my job and go at it full-time. Unlike some other posts I've read in this forum, I don't have any cash put aside to help me through till the time I make full-time dollars, so this would suggest I remain at my current job till I'm actually making something from affiliate marketing. On the other hand I passionately dislike my current job since I'm mostly sitting around doing nothing (or in fact further investigating affiliate marketing) and wasting my time and the money of my employers.
Work on affiliate marketing in your spare time until you can afford to quit your job ... knowing you NEED an out, and knowing you HAVE one that you are working on will go a long way to motivate you to keep going and stay focused.
Start with the free info Allan provides via his main site and in the links on the far right ... great resources for learning, as is this forum.

Leon, as Debs just expressed - let that be your motivator instead of being under the mistaken belief that it is easy to make money online. It can literally take years before you make a substantial residual income.
I don't wish to discourage you because it really IS possible to become successful with affiliate marketing. There are many different routes to success. Find the one thats best for you.
Maybe you have an interest or knowledge in a particular field. Research the viability of setting up a website around that particular topic. There are tools that you can use to determine the success of a particular niche.
If you are really serious about quiting your job you need to start educating yourself and learning from the success of others.

Leon, Is it possible to switch to part-time work?
I was working three days a week when I got started in affiliate marketing. Having all that spare time - four days plus seven evenings - helped me enormously.
Whether you switch to part-time work or keep working 5 days, if you stick with your job and learn how to make money earning affiliate commissions, you'll probably find your attitude to your job changes. Mine did.
When you arrive home from work and open envelopes containing commission checks, you'll find that your job is much easier to bear, because you can see the day when you go to your boss and say: "I don't need this job any more."
However, resist saying that while you still need the job!
You have a powerful motivator. Make the most of it. _________________ Allan Gardyne

Hi
Thanks everyone for keeping it real. So often people come with promises of riches, but you guys (and gals) are honest and urging me to be real. Yes, some people do make money, and yes, some people don't make money. It is all in your approach - are you willing to put in the time and effort to make it?
