James Martell has revealed to his readers (and listeners) the results of some dramatic new research he's done on some of his sites. Readers can find the info in a new audio about keyword density in his Updates section. Only his customers have access to his updates.
He says he's boosted his traffic on the sites on which he tried his new keyword density rules by 30%.
James owns at least 90 affiliate sites containing about 25,000 pages, and has a big reputation to protect, so when he comes out with something dramatic like this, I think we have to treat it seriously.
For most of us, it would be a huge step to modify all our pages.
What you could do instead is create new test pages targeting key phrases which you're getting only mediocre page rankings with. Use the new Martell keyword density method on the test pages and see how they perform compared with your existing pages. That's a very safe way of testing. No harm done if it's a fizzer.
If James is right, SEO webmasters are going to have a LOT of work to do!
