New to adsense and have just been accepted. Read this in the terms of use :

You also agree not to display any other text-based or content-targeted advertisement(s) on the same Web page in connection with which an Ad Unit or any Ad is displayed.

so I guess that means I can only display the ads on a page where there are no affiliate links???

No, Google is not that restrictive.

You can have affiliate links (just don't overdue it).

What you can't do is include Google AdSense competitors like Sprinks.

You also cannot imitate the look of the Adsense ads on your site for other ads ... nor use "in context" links within your content paragraphs

in context links example:

When taking the taxi to the airport to fly to the <link>Bahamas</link>, I really got excited about the trip.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I understand the AdSense agreement you can have any ads you like on your site as long as they're not on the same page as the AdSense ads.

No, you can have ads on Adsense pages as well. You just can't have the restricted ads (in context text links, certain Google competitor text banners similar to Adsense) on the same page as Adsense. You can run the restricted ads on pages not having Adsense.

Yep, affiliate links are fine. However, small sites with few visitors and lots of affiliate links are likely to be rejected.

So cant we have both adsense ads and in context links on our web pages? Many webmasters emphasize on the fact to use in context links as they will generate more sales. Like just look my page which helps to get rid of blackheads http://ultimate-cosmetics.com/beauty/articles/how-to-prevent-blackheads.htm ... can i use google adsense on that page as you will see it contains in context affiliate links?

If in doubt, email Google Adsense and ask them. Give them the url of the page in question. They are excellent with providing responses to questions such as these.

Hi everyone,

In the spirit of reviving older topics, I'll post my question here.

Recently I subscribed to a newsletter that I think is a good newsletter that provides helpful information. Yesterday, however, I received the latest issue that contained a paragraph that bothers me.

Begin paragraph:

Also, if you visit <name of Website> today, you will notice that our pages are now displaying Google AdWords. This excellent tool from Google serves text based ads (no annoying banners or pop-ups) that are relevant to the content of our pages (Internet marketing and web design). I encourage you to visit the sites featured in the ads, since they may provide interesting and relevant information. Also, [shameless plug] because by doing so, you will be helping <name of Website> to continue bringing you quality content every week.

End paragraph.

What are your thoughts on this? If you were a subscriber to this newsletter, what would you do?

I would send an email to the author including the link to the TOS and FAQ of Adsense, advising them they were in violation of the guidelines and could be subject to removal from the program if someone turned them in.

Then I would wait.

Frank,

I'm not sure if anyone has answered your question yet. You are correct in that you can have any type of ads you want on various pages throughout your site (including lookalike ads like Sprinks) but just not on the same pages that you are putting the Adsense script on.

Also, like others have stated you can have affiliate type in content text links on the same page as Adsense ads as long as they don't look like the Adsense ads.

However, if you have a site full of affiliate links and very little content, the people who review sites for acceptance may reject your site.
