Hi all,
I was just updating my spyware program and was enabling it to protect my newest browser, Firefox. The thing that kinda freaked me out is I looked over the list of blocked cookies in Spyware Blaster and I noticed just about all affiliate network cookies are blocked!! That's right, Commission Junction, Linkshare(which is Link Synergy by url for tracking), BeFast, and Overture... and quite possibly more affiliate programs that I'm unaware of.
Now, my question to you guys is this... am I wrong to wonder about this? Is this going to impact affiliate earnings? Should we be emailing program writers such as Spyware Blaster and question why they have to block the tracking cookies for people's livlihood and legitimate internet businesses, etc? Thousands of people each day are downloading these programs and they are not just blocking porn dialers!!! I understand blocking porn cookies that force porn pop-ups to spring up on the family computers, but this could be quite serious. I'd like to hear you guys thoughts...
Is this affecting your affiliate earnings? How much money is lost? How many people are being forwarded to the merchant's website and the site who forwarded the user being not counted? Is this free traffic for the merchants with lil dumb affiliates not knowing any better?

Hello Milton.
There is definitely an issue here...
Do a search for all posts by Debs containing "Norton" (that's software not motorbikes). That should turn up some interesting threads from the past.
