I don't have a set amount of time I devote every day (probably should), but I have weekly plans created for what I want to accomplish and publish every week through December.

Bascially, I'm building a site a month until the end of December.

Nice one, Ive been doing a site a month myself, has worked out well. Now I have set hours for a bit of balance.

Ill have 3 articles your way by the weekend btw.

I have added some stuff pointing to your site, Ill email you with the details later.

Anyone else like to share their hours of work?

Id like to see what others do, and what they feel works best for them.

Warm regards

Hi, Johnny,

I tend to do about 3 hours on weekday mornings after my son leaves for school, and another 2 to 3 hours after he goes to bed.

But that's not all just sitebuilding time - it's also emailing, forum-ing, researching, submitting articles, checking whether the latest hurricane is headed our way (South Carolina), etc.

Some days I don't produce much and am annoyed with myself later. I'm thinking about trying a schedule (although I'm not normally a schedule-oriented person), setting aside certain days and times for just writing.

I find I build content a LOT faster if I put off the email, forums, etc. till the very end of my computer time! Work first, then play. Smile My unproductive days are when I play first and never get around to the work.

Still, over the past 11 months that I've been doing this, I've averaged slightly better than one article every two days.

I have some new site ideas now, and I'd like to improve my content productivity so I can get everything accomplished that I have in mind.

That sounds good, bit of balance there.

I know what you mean about the playing, today I?m supposed to do 10 articles, however I?m busy chatting on msn about tonight?s venue!

Some days I can write out 20 articles easily, but it has to be put pc on, turn msn off, don?t check email.

Just as you said really. 4 hours a day works well for my lifestyle, and I normally do the 4 hours 10 till 2 in the after noon. Then the rest of the day is for martial arts/gym and buying new stuff for the flat Cool

Now that Christmas is on the horizon, I reckon it may be good to ramp things up.

warm regards

6 - 10 hours per day. 7 days a week. since Dec '03.

This will continue until I create enough income online to pay the bills.

That isn't just site work, that includes the full spectrum of online work.

When I was starting out, I worked absolutely crazy hours, about 16 hours a day, from about dawn to about midnight, 7 days a week. I did that for several years. Just about killed myself.

These days, I have a leisurely start to the day, including an hour-long walk, read the newspaper, and usually get to the computer about 10 or 10.30am. I work for about 6 hours a day now, and take days off when I feel like it.

Hi Johnny,

I still have the j-o-b, so weekdays I put in 3 to 5hrs in the evening. At least I try to kid myself that I do, some evenings my old brain is so cream crackerd that I'm basically just sitting like a zombie in front of my 'puter Smile

Weekends are more productive of course, I put in whatever hours I can.

Allan's " leisurely start to the day," sure sounds good. Smile

All the best,
Larry Chamberlain.

You just made my day LOL

16 hours a day, that sure is crazy, I might give it a go for a month or two, You sure would achieve a lot.

I was making a site when I was at work, I almost got fired for it, then I just quit as it was just getting in the way. I told the supervisor I aint got time to be here, and he thought I was going insane, ah well.

I wish we had the weather in the Uk, Id love to go for a walk in the morning down the beach, however, its pelting down with rain on a constant basis, lol.

Warm regards
