Post subject: Affiliates - Could you sell Access Databases?
|
|
|
Hi everyone, I work as an Access/VBA Developer and I was just wondering if you think you could sell Access Databases.
I was thinking of small databases like:
Checks
Pettycash
Contacts
School database etc...
I imagine the commission would be about 50% and they might range in price from $50-?400.
Thanks for any feedback

Hi Fitz,
I reckon there is a market for everything, are you already selling these?
You might find interested affiliates if you are offering juicy commission, have a quality website and product.
Establish a brand for your products, tell the consumer and affiliates why they need to be involved. Charm us and convivce us!
Why would I use your product, let alone sell them for you?!!

Hello Fitz.

Yes, I'm sure you could, but the crux for me was when you said...

I'd definitely go about trying to find existing traffic sources for each specific application I was trying to sell (rather than databases in general). It's a bit like creating a site such as "internet marketing for anthropologists" (retirements excepted) as opposed to internet marketing "for everyone".
Better targeting, easier to dominate and probably cheaper traffic, too.
If you go that route, I'd definitely play down the "database" and stress the "simple solution". Most people (with a few notable exceptions like Alf) probably aren't as passionate about DBs as you are.
Regarding affiliate acquisition...

Robust tracking and a slick, effective sales process also appeal. On average, how much will I earn for every potential customer I send you?
Do a search on here. There's lots of opinions regarding setting up an affiliate program.
Cheers,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."

No, some parts would be there already as they are built into much larger applications. If I was to sell them as stand-alone i would need to make some changes.
Truthfully, because of my current work load it would probably be after christmas before I could get my first couple of products out., I started this thread as part of the market research process.
I think I would go with ShareASale if I set it up, so they would take care of trackng and comissions etc.
Thanks for the replies, they have been very useful.
