Unfortunately, Yahoo! HAS penalized AssociatePrograms.com. It can't be found in the search engine. It's one of the three that Yahoo! doesn't like.

That'll teach me to make assumptions when it comes to SEO. Still hard to believe, though...

Yahoo is adding and removing sites all the time, even adding and removing pages. It's unreliable at best, if you ask me.

True, and apparently there are big problems with (almost) everyone's friend the 301 redirect, but I'm sure they'll sort things out in due course.

Let's hope the problem with AP is only a temporary one. I honestly fail to see how a site such as that - long established; highly regarded authority; large content site with diverse external linking structure - is supposed to be excluded by the Yahoo SE algo.

To be blunt, I could just about understand it with the other sites, but AP is a very different kettle of fish.

It seems to go against everything we are told the SEs are looking for in a site these days - and indeed the trend for the future.

Time will tell,
Charlie.

It's very apparent that their algorithms are LITERALLY years behind Google's.

If you go to Yahoo and search for "free credit cards" without the quotes. You'll see the first natural search results (not sponsored ads) is from a site called desktop-publishers.com

Those that have been in the game for a little while will recgonize that as one of the original James Martell sites that he let slip a long time ago. He is capitalizing with the Google Ads, but most of the affiliate links are dead.

That just goes to show you and a site using SEO strategies from a long time ago, that come no where close to ranking in Google, is ranking #1 in Yahoo.
