It's a very interesting read and money he does not need.
So, the whole gift thing and "I'll pay you back!" etc. Talk about A Publicity event.
All the best

Did you notice he said he would give back the $97 that you could only spend on stuff that was there for sell. I bet everything will be more than $97 lol _________________ Robert

I know I'm old fashioned, but to me the whole thing, especially the cutesy email from his fiancee, was kinda tacky. |

Well, ya gotta admit, it's interesting, whatever you think of it.
It's been rumored that I don't much care for this kind of sales writing. But I'm also a fan of business writers sharing some of themselves without so much posing.
Normally I think of these two writing styles as being polar opposites, but in this case that paradigm isn't so tidy.
There's no way I would even consider turning my wedding in to a commercial event. But that's me. We're talking Cory Rudl here.
I find it entirely credible that this event is a sincere expression of who Cory really is, so the whole thing comes off as authentic, which addresses one of the big problems I sometimes have with sales writing.
You do have to wonder where the line is here. Can we join them on the honeymoon if we pay extra? Is there an X-rated option? Is there a pay site where we can watch the mother-in-laws duke it out?
Reality TV comes to the Net I guess. _________________ Free Forum And Ezine Hosting

Hey C.K.
Your close enough.
And since Corey is from our province and has dual citizenship I'm sure we're already invited to the wedding.
Canada Post must just be a little behind on the mail.
All the best

He lives and breathes marketing. It's what he loves doing.
However, I thought it was tacky, too. And the letter from his finacee? I kept thinking, "How could anyone be so dumb they'd fall for this?"
But look what he did. He created something that people are discussing publicly. He's obeying the first rule of marketing - Get noticed. He's certainly done that. Most of us are too timid to do that. _________________ Allan Gardyne

There's no question Cory is a master at getting noticed.
I guess we are in to the question of whether it matters what you get noticed for, or whether all publicity is good publicity.
How could anyone be so dumb they'd fall for this? It's a puzzlement, isn't it?
Cory has been selling tons of stuff using this style for a long time now, and it's hard to believe all the zillions of folks who have bought from him are dumb.
I've finally gotten to the point where I realize there must be a more accurate and objective way to describe the state of mind that responds to this style of writing, but I can't put my finger on it yet.
I guess the human mind is a little more complicated than the box like categories we try to use to describe it's functioning.
Or maybe I'm too dumb to comprehend how many dumb folks there really are? |

Well, at least one state of mind I'm aware of that might respond to this kind of writing goes something like this:
"Hmm, the sales letter looks hyped and tacky, but the product seems interesting nonetheless. Let me try it anyway."
A few years ago, when I first saw the site for Corey's marketing info. bundle, I almost bought it, subscribing to this state of mind. What stopped me was the forever-two-days-in-advance-impending-price-increase trick. I wasn't aware of this trick beforehand, but somehow I was savvy enough to recognize for what it is, and I just wouldn't take it.

P.S.

Fair enough.

Yes, but what's going to happen when his real fiance finds out...
Ouch.
Cheers,
