Thanks for posting the links. I'm concerned, esp as I'm about to develop a site with CJ links.
I struggled to find a solution to the problem within the posts, other than not using CJ, although someone suggested using redirects.
Do you know if a link to a page within my site with a meta redirect to the CJ link would get round the problem?

i guess this work.
The problem with re-direct link is you have to make many such pages if you link to a merchant in many ways other than its home page.
forget about department links or product links.
And this will not help for all banner links (esp. promotional banners)
the image will not show up at all. _________________ http://sunsss.com |

As I understand it, using a tracking url (a redirect without going through another page) would work.
CJ is doing a backend upgrade tonight, and they are very aware of the problem, so hopefully they will address this issue with the update. _________________ Learn how to turn keyphrases into quality, well-targeted articles your visitors and SE's will love with Gary Antosh's new ebook "Web Content Made Easy!" |

Actually even using tracking urls will not help in this case because the problem is killing pop ups. So any page opened in a new window(with target =_blank) will be killed. So its of no use.
But we can open it in the same window. In that case tracking url would be useful in case of sw's banning host level files.

The best way would be to write a script yourself. If you are not comfortable doing it, then you can buy any of the available tracking scripts or use a free one. Lets jhope cj will find a solution to this.
To your success,

the problem now is just text link competely invisible and removed,
not the site open in a new window case. _________________ http://sunsss.com |

I am by no means a programmer but I know you can find tutorials on doing redirect links with cgi scripts, your .htaccess file if your host allows access, among other things. You can find remotely hosted scripts as well as ones you can put on your own site if you have access to a cgi bin.
There are also places like Namestick.com that will do the redirect and tracking for you. They charge $35 a year, you get to choose a new domain name to redirect through, and unlimited subdomains for each domain. You could set up a subdomain for each affiliate link you have.
Another option, if you have SBI, is you already have tracking! Use the Tracking Links under the main SBI interface. I know you aren't supposed to track those onsite ... but it's better than having your links disappear!

Have you seen any indication that CJ have addressed the issue?

CJ's update last night did not, to my knowledge, take care of this problem. Their advertiser links are still showing qksrv as the domain. Basically Norton's has targeted this domain that's why the links and banners aren't showing for any viewer who was Norton's firewall running with the optional adblocker turned on. _________________ Learn how to turn keyphrases into quality, well-targeted articles your visitors and SE's will love with Gary Antosh's new ebook "Web Content Made Easy!" |

All,
I just quickly scanned these posts so maybe I missed it, but wouldn't
cloaking the link provide the safest solution? Seems something like
Affiliate Link Cloaker should do the trick. To my understanding it's just
another form of redirect, except that your underlying link address is
hidden.
All the best,

If Affiliate Link Cloaker
create zero margin window frame.
Many merchants do not allow this ?? _________________ http://sunsss.com |

I haven't used Affiliate Link Cloaker. If you can direct me to a page with a cloaked link I can check it with NPF's adblocker turned on.
