Post subject: New: Affiliates Dictionary - what do you think?
|
|
|
Hi Everyone, I've created a new section at AssociatePrograms.com...
The Affiliates Dictionary:
http://www.AssociatePrograms.com/affiliates-dictionary.com
It's a sort of glossary, but a bit more than that.
It's aimed mainly at newcomers to affiliate marketing, but I'm also adding a few tips which I hope will be a useful refresher for other affiliates.
Are there any affiliate marketing terms you'd like to see added?
I'd specially like to hear from people who are fairly new to affiliate marketing. Is there anything you don't understand that I could explain in the Affiliates Dictionary?
If you're an affiliate marketing veteran, can you think back to when you were starting out? What did you have trouble understanding? What things did you find confusing?
Any general comments on the content, design etc would also be welcome. Be as tough as you like. I can take it!
So far, this forum is the only place linking to the Affiliates Dictionary. I'd love to hear your comments before I add more links to it. _________________ Allan Gardyne

Nice idea Allan and I like the way you set it up, one term per page
How about adding:
JV
ROI
CPC

Excellent!
I posted this in your other dictionary post but thought other's should be made aware of the opportunity for their own niche(s)
Glad to see some following similar resources and seeing the possibilities.
The dictionary idea can be built into any niche site and should be considered for all niches.
Here's a thread that includes the dictionary idea...

Thanks, Phil. That's wonderful.
I can fairly easily expand it as it grows.
The idea is to build pages that will be genuinely useful, in contrast to the current craze for building hundreds of junky pages that are designed purely to be found in search engines. _________________ Allan Gardyne

From the newbies point of view..I can't wait to see the Dictionary grow! It's a little nerve-racking when you don't understand something that someone is talking about in the posts! LOL
Thank you so much!

I wonder if Dr. Johnson took requests ...
It's a fantastic section! However, I'm going to be the one to beg for ... not exactly more simple explanation but ...an explanation that presumes NO knowledge. It's not really your job, but it would be SO helpful.
Since coming here, I've (kind of like a dope, I can't help myself) run several searches on the TIERS and on PAGE RANK. I've followed all the links to threads and I've googled these things. The Google page we're directed to explains its technology and there've been a few links that have 'page rank calculators,' but I still don't know where I'd find my page rank ... etc.
And your explanation of the 2 tier program still leaves me wondering ... no, SORTING through, like 'How Does That Work.'
Especially as I'm building a site based entirely on what i'm learning here, I know for a fact that I'd incorporate these things at concept ... if only i understood the concept!!
Thanks so much. |

Thanks for all the excellent suggestions.
I've found already that I've been going back and improving some of the pages as I remember things or come across more information.
This could end up being a project that's never totally completed.
I really appreciate all your very helpful comments. _________________ Allan Gardyne

Hi, Allan,
How about posting a prominent link to your new dictionary on the header of your forum (maybe in or below the area of the links for FAQ, Search, Memberlist, etc.). Then when anyone stumbles across a term they don't understand while reading & posting on the forum, the definition is only two clicks away!
You could also add a little form to the bottom of your dictionary page so people can suggest terms for you to add to it. _________________ www.home-jewelry-business-success-tips.com |
