Would you exchange links with a site which had up to 100 links on a page? If not, what's the maximum number of links that you would be prepared to work with.

Seems to me that exchanging links with (let's say) 15 sites which had 100 links on a page would be better than just getting one link from a site which had less than ten links on a page.

100 links on a page 1/100 of the PR; 10 links on the page 1/10 of the PR. 15 sites at 1/100 = 15/100 vs. 10/100 ... I would agree. However, will your link be indexed, will the PR transfer, or will it be viewed as a link farm and possibly a bad neighborhood?

It took you how many hours to get those 15 sites to exchange links vs. the one site?

Hi Mantius

In addition to what Debs said, the main concern needs to be how much PR you will receive. This is difficult to estimate because we don't know the real PR values.

However, if you are talking about pages that all have the same PR then the 15/100 links will be better. If the 1/10 page is a PR 5 and the 15/100 links are PR 4s or lower then the 1/10 will probably be better.

Also, you need to make sure that you are also counting internal links because both internal and external links are counted in the PR calculation. So, my main links page is a PR 5 with only about 10 external links which may make it look very valuable but I have around 60 internal links on the page. A link from that page is still good but not as good as some people might think.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Thanks Debs and Sean. I asked these questions because of the fact that a lot of the sites which are doing reciprocal link exchanges have link pages with many links on them.
