Post subject: how much to pay article writer
|
|
|
I have several friends who will be willing to rewrite my content i have collected. Both of these friends have very good business writing skills. By the way, the content is business related.....telecom, long distance.
What would be a fair amount to pay them. I guess im looking at something at how much per page? I have all the content already, they just need to rewrite it.
Thanks in advance,
Chris Bradley |

Bradley, it's very hard to judge the value of the rewritten content. Some people are worth their weight in gold for rewriting, other's aren't. I would suggest you have them each write one article, then base the fee on the rewritten sample.
New articles that you hire done are basically rewritten from info obtained elsewhere; some are worth $5 some $50, it just depends on the quality of the article.

Thanks Debs, i will say most of these articles i am looking at are more for informative content type articles which will be optimized for particular keyword and to add content to my site since i am in a very competitive field, business long distance. Not sure how excited someone will be to read these articles, lol. My friend said she didnt want any money bc she enjoys writing but after reviewing ALL the info i have accumulated, i have to pay her!!.. i think she underestimated herself, haha.
i am looking at well over a 100 articles. Now some may be rather short, other possibly a page long. Maybe, when she rewrites our main pages, ill pay her more and for these, ill pay $5-$10.

Hi Bradly, Here's another option.
I have had articles written by folks at rentacoder (an online coding service) with mixed success. My articles are about 1000 words on average.
The articles are informational in nature and require a lot of research.
For 5$ each the results were OK but I had to do a lot of proofreading and rewriting. But thats OK for me. I like a starting point and then introducing my style.
For $7 the results were about same or maybe a little more quality.
The best results I got was from a writer that convinced me to spend $12 per article. She told me that the quality would be worth it and she was right. I needed to do very little proofing, the vocabulary was excellent and she spent more time on research than she expected.
I got my 3 articles for $36 and was very satisfied.
Here's the kicker.... she informed me that she underestimated the time involved to complete articles to her satifaction. If I needed more articles she would be charging $25 per article.
The articles would be top quality but out of my price range.
I guess you get what you pay for.
If you end up trying an online service just make sure you review the bids and pick from the best ones. Start small, get sample articles and stay within your budget.
Hope this helps. _________________ http://www.classic-rock-legends-start-here.com |

Hello,..
How about suggesting/offering your friend(s) pay for performance ?
The better the article, the more results it will bring, the more both you and he will get paid..?

I have been following this thread because I, in turn, had the same question that Chris Bradley had about how much to pay for an article.
When it comes to a simple newsletter, I am still unclear about how much to pay for the newsletter article.
I definitely think, however, that a per-article pay is the best route to go, as opposed to a salary.
My friend who is the publisher of the Orange County Business journal said that 50 bucks may be too low, if you want a good article.
Yet, I believe we all want to be talking about the same thing, either newsletter or newspaper? I believe that 50 bucks per article for a newsletter can be a possibility.
I have not launched the first article yet, since it is being written as we speak. When it does, I will come back and let you know if I should pay more.
Well, the newsletter will be published for clients and prospective clients.
By the way, Chris, if you ever want a proofreading for your business articles, that can be done by my 24/7 proofing team of PhDs in English and Writers.
Thanks,

I think paying for performance may be the best way to go here. Associated Content for example pays on average a 1.50 for every thousand page views your article receives.
This may seem a bit low but if you can figure out roughly how many page views an average article will receive and what your average conversion rate is you may be able to convince them that the better the article, ie: key word placement, the more they can make.
If you offer 10 bucks, they may only do a half hearted job while if they see their earning potential is limitless they may put a lot more effort into it making both of you more money in the end. _________________ Everything Niagara Falls Casinos, Water Parks, Attractions and Natural Wonders. Well, I guess it depends on whether or not you want quality.
If you just want words "thrown" on a page with no bite or value in the article for the reader, then I guess you can get that for a few dollars.
If you value your effort and business, and you want quality you should expect the same from your writer.
The way the search engine algorithms are going they will favour articles which add value to your niche.
Remember your article is the ambassador for your site and will be up there 24/7, so it pays to invest properly in getting it right.

Depends on the quality of the article (how does it effective to the customer).
But from my experienced, it just cost about $3-$5 per article.

Many writers are charged different cost for re wright an article.
There are a lot of people online today who are calling themselves "article rewriters." This is because there are a lot of people who are starting to realize that there is a lot of power within article marketing. The power comes from the fact that you can actually build thousands of
backlinks that will bring you a lot of traffic both now as well as in the future. _________________ Hi i am Vishal marketing executive in Web Design India. |

I would agree with you on this one. Generally, however, article rewriting is much cheaper than article creation because you don't have to think of a slant anymore. While when you write an article from scratch, it is much more difficult. |

There is no right or wrong answer. Personally, I've done a few quick articles for people for just $50, then I get a residual payment too on that and I tend to end up with an additional $50/year, perhaps for 3 years before it dies a death.
The price you pay for your articles should be related to the amount of money you can make from that writing - but if you're new then you won't know how much that is.
Just pay what you're comfortable with and can afford. Think about how long they take, how much you'd want paying for that time, how much money you think they'll make you, how well you know the person/writing of the author. Then do what feels right inside.
I don't really like writing articles for people because I feel too much expectation to perform I prefer writing articles for myself... I am an easy boss to work for. |
