I've been debating wether I should choose addfreestats.com or hitbox.com for a counter can I get some feedback from people who have used these counters, which one is better? or is there another counter out there better than these? or another way of tracking your visitors to your site? I know a counter degrades the quality of your website, but I know how very important it is to keep track of visitors
I would like to get an invisible counter but the problem with those is that you gotta pay for them and having dozens of mini sites that would come out to some pretty expensive counters
Or, you can use their PHP system (pphlogger) for free, if you have PHP and MySQL capabilities on your web server.
Using the above system, you can choose to show/hide the counts, as well as other information. It is fairly robust. I used it until I changed hosting and then my new host has a better tracking package. _________________ Eric D. Burdo They Made $6,513 a day With Clickbank Doing This...

Hi Mike,
I honestly don't like to make blatant self-promotional pitches on forums. I haven't even listed our services in the "blatantly promote your ads here" part of the forum, but since you asked:

I can't help but answer this.
Yeah, our program, SmarTracking is honestly top of the line tracking, but, alas - it isn't free. And for 12 sites, to make it economically feasible, you would be better off buying the "full version", not the monthly asp version. This is really good tracking info and not just a hit counter, and this rivals WebTrends at a fraction of the cost
We didn't put in all the bells and whistles that you can find in WebTrends, but frankly, for serious online marketing - all these extra features aren't necessary. SmarTracking, does however give you real time stats that are as accurate as they get.
We were just recently mentioned in Secrets to Their Success by a customer (unsolicited - in fact I didn't know it till I saw visitors coming from Corey Rudl's site to ours - SmarTracking lets us know this). This customer has used WebTrends extensively, and now he has happily switched to SmarTracking.
If you want just a hit counter (BTW hits are a useless stat) then SmarTracking is way overkill, but if you want a tracking program to seriously monitor your online endeavors as a business investment, then you should give it a try. We offer a 15 day free trial. See my signature.
Even if you don't buy it, at least this way you can see what good tracking is all about.
Thanks for the help, but I had signed up to ucvhost and just realized it seems like they provide some pretty good stats for your site, best part is its free and invisble so now i dont even got to get a counter. Persanlly I'd rather pay $100 a month for wenhosting for 100 sites at ucvhost than $29 a month at newwebsite for 100 sites. I think the webstats that ucvhost provides is worth paying a little bit more than to have your site hosted at newwebsite and have to sign up for a counter on the side.
Whats you guys's opinion on this?
Mike
They use CPanel and have some really good tracking stats. Not updated as frequently as I would like, but the once a day updates help me learn patience. :)
There are cheaper services out there for web-hosting, but I like the options that B.A. Port offers, and the fact that their avg tech support answer is about an hour. Even on holidays and sundays. _________________ Eric D. Burdo They Made $6,513 a day With Clickbank Doing This...

Hi Mike,
Are you saying that you would rather pay $70 more per month to have ucvhost's tracking service? That's $840 a year - if you bought SmarTracking's "full license" you would save more than $300 the first year, and $840 every year after that! You would not even be limited to 100 web sites or even to a particular host.
I don't know what tracking solution ucvhost uses, but I am willing to bet that it isn't as good as SmarTracking.
Ok enough self promo stuff - just wanted to point out some financial considerations. I don't want to abuse this forum and talk too much about our product, I prefer if people try it themselves.
