Post subject: Check your payment history
|
|
|
Has anyone noticed unusual stats on your Payment History page?
Mine shows a payment approved on May 19, that was for April earnings.
Mine also shows a payment approved on June 16, that I assume is for May earnings, but the amount is incorrect.
Then, another payment is showing as being approved on June 23 for the same amount as the June 16 payment.
Both the June 16 and June 23 amounts equal what I earned from June 1 to June 16.
Has AdSense made an announcement I missed?
Thanks,
Bobby |

Correction - the June 16 payment approved amount does does correctly reflect the earnings for May.
The June 23 payment approved amount and date is what I don't understand. Why would Google approve two payments, 7 days apart?
Anyone else see this on your Payment History page?

I'm seeing the same thing....strange. Maybe there was an error in the first payment?
All of my numbers are accurate though. _________________ Robert

First there was one payment approval date. Then, a day or two later, there was a new feature added (websearch or something) and an updated TOS that we had to agree to. Your money WOULD NOT have been sent until you agreed to the new TOS. Once you agreed, a new approval date was posted. |

Is this what Google said? Why should we have to accept a new contract in order to get money we earned under a previous contract? I find this to be a shady practice at the very least, and at most outright illegal. Comments?

There is nothing illegal nor shady going on. IN fact, according to the GOogle payout policy, they do not even need to send out a check until 30 days after the previous month's earnings.
However, they have typically gotten things done weeks ahead of that.
Nothing shady going on here. A bit confusing, but not illegal. |

But paying 30 days after is nothing like not paying at all if the new terms are not accepted. If Google decides not to pay money earned under the old terms until the new terms are accepted, then that would be like a breach of contract on the part of Google.

That's what I thought initially.
However, the first approval date shown on my account is June 16.
I accepted the new TOS on June 17, the same day they were announced. You can see the date of the last TOS update and the date of the Websearch announcement on the AdSense site.
The second approval date doesn't show up until June 23.
It will be interesting to see when the June checks arrive and the amount.

Jscott,
Since no one responded to your question, that probably means no one has received the June check yet (for May earnings)
I'm sure people will post when the June checks start arriving so we can figure out this double "approval date" thing. _________________ Bobby

Thats basically what it said when I signed in the first time after the new TOS was put in place.

Because it's their ballgame. Plus, I think we all gave them this right when we agreed to the original contract, which contained this provision.

I'm sure this is because they do one posting for everyone, not individual postings.
This is all speculation, I could be wrong; thats just how I interpreted things. Maybe there was an accounting glitch or programming error which required them to repost earnings. I don't really care so long as I get paid. |

Just recived my cheque.
I had 2 approvals to, I presumed that the second was showing when they actually posted the cheque. Ive just got my cheque now, and my second approval was 24th, so sounds about right with me being in the uk
Oh well Im happy with google I think they are the best. Does anyone know how long a cheque takes to cash in dollars in to your average Uk bank?
Thanks |

Approx 10 days, though they will warn you it can take up to 28 days (though it never has for me). _________________ UK Shopping Directory of online UK Shops |
