Hi everyone,

I'm new to this message board and I'd like to introduce myself. I just completed my new website www.BeautyImagebyMina.com . I want to create some affiliate revenue from my new site. Please (show me the way)any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to hear some good ideas.

Add more useful articles to your site, then link to related sites and ask those sites to link to you. You need lots of people visiting the site before you can make useful money with affiliate programs or AdSense. To achieve that, you need more articles.

Hi Allan,

When you say useful articles what do you mean? I should write more regarding beauty and make-up? I did link to some wedding sites and makeup and will keep on adding I also need to start a newsletter but I have to learn how to do all that. I just registered with commission junction to promote certain high commission sites related to my website, but I had a problem uploading their links (very confusing). Thank you for the advice.

Your site would have a hard time getting decent listing in the SE's because there is little content for the SE's to feed upon. Content is king they all say and it's true if you want to take advantage of free SE listings to get traffic. Allan suggested you provide more content, tips/articles/reviews of products, methods, etc. relating to your niche on your site, not just linking to sites that have info.

If you just link to the sites having free tips, reviews, etc., your visitors may just go there to get the info and products they want. With your services being very limited geographic wise, I would strongly promote that aspect of your service, but I would also promote affiliate products you can review and recommend to people outside your geographic area. You could also write articles about learning to do what you do and where they can go in their area to learn. Go into specifics of makeup for types of skin, skin shades, face shapes, etc. then recommend the products they should use for that type of skin, shade, shape, etc.

Phil's post on the ending meant you put a period after your url which made it an error and the domain couldn't be found. Don't put punctuation after an url, messes it up everytime Smile

You have a very nice looking site, but you need to give more information on all aspects of it, your training, and your portfolio should show before and after shots to build credibility. Another way to build credibility would be to include a paragraph or two on each picture telling what you did to improve their appearance, and how you did it.

Hi:

First of all I want to say how nice the site looks graphically.

Second, if you want to make money at affiliate marketing you need some products. I would recommend Fragrance Wholesale, Great Skin and Cosmetic Mall.

Cosmetics sell very well on the internet so you are in the right genre:)

I've placed a space before the fullstop you'd written at the end of the link. It works now.

Registered members of this forum are allowed to edit their own posts. Guest can't do that. It doesn't cost anything to register. There are other benefits, too.

Debs, thanks for your typically thorough answer. Great stuff!

Makeupgirl, if you read Rupert's affiliate case studies on my site, you'll see how they describe how he did keyword research before writing articles. Creating web sites that way increases your chances that your pages will be found in search engines. Roughly speaking, the more articles you write, the more visitors you're likely to get.

I want to thank everyone for giving me a wonderful advice. It looks like I have a lot to learn. For now everything seems overwhelming, but I will take one thing at a time. Eventually I will get there. I will be lurking on this site and posting. Thanks again!

To make a link appear in a post, you don't have to do anything fancy such as add code to underline it. All you have to do is type the URL, like this...

www.BeautyImagebyMina.com

OR like this...

http://www.BeautyImagebyMina.com

The forum software will automatically make it a hyperlink.
