Of course there may be a few typos, some links aren't quite set up yet and the copy needs polished a bit more, but I want to know if I'm on the right track. Any help would be appreciated.
The purpose of the site is to give folks step by step guidelines on how to write a press release that will get published, real world examples, tips, and also offer my press release writing services too.
2 concerns I have with your page ... the site design is no design and looks amateurish, and you use a lot of "I" not enough you, particularly at the beginning and end when it should focus on the visitor.
You want a very professional look, when you are going to be selling your services, first impressions do count.
Since you will be promoting yourself and your abilities, I realize you have to speak in the first person some, but keep it minimal on the first page, you can provide an "About Us" page to list your qualifications. Use your home page to promote the benefits your visitors came looking for and don't be afraid to use "free" once in a while when discussing your newsletter and the tips you will be offering.

Make sure you tie in some Successful examples of your work. Testimonials, stories, images, your media knowledge and connections. Consider using your own photo to personalize and build trust with your visitors.
Also, as you know with any business it's very important to specialize but it's always important to network with different experts so you may want to consider a Web copywriter.

Thanks Debs & Phil,
Yes, obviously, I need to rework/improve/polish everything here. I'm pretty accomplished at writing sales letters (offline), however, I need to get the knack of how to present myself online. Practice, practice.
Interesting link about USP too, and yes, I need to take a peek at the competition a little more closely too.
