Post subject: What's Up With Commision Junction?
|
|
|
Hello all,
For over a week now I have been getting "page can not be displayed" when I try to go to Comission Junction. Is something happening with them?
Has anyone else been having this problem?
THanks, Matt |

I've had no problems. What url have you tried?
I use www.cj.com

since it's now the 23rd,and there have been no more posts,Iwasn't going to test cj.com.
However,I haven't checked my stats for a while so I changed my mind, and clicked the link.
The page loaded slowly, and flashed a few times.
Ran a couple of quick tests, and found that their code isn't valid.
Shame on cj.com.
Matt: If you are still having problems, try another browser.
Tom
P.S.: "page can not be displayed",generally means bad code, but can also mean:
- bleeding edge code that only works in 1 version,of 1 specific browser.
- that your connection is bad
- your computer has run out of memory,and/or hard disk is full.
- or that your browser has gone wonky and needs to be reinstalled.
If that is the only site that you can't load, then the problem is most likely on their end. _________________ NitroMarketing.com |

Hello,
I tried using Netscape instead of internet explorer and I am getting an error message from them stating "connection was refused". I am totally at a loss here.
I checked my email from when I signed up and there is no contact info.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks to all that have reposnded so far.

| I'll bet $10 someone has installed KazaaLite ( or something similar) on your computer, and it's blocking CJ (and lots of others) via a poisoned hosts file. |

| I had installed a spyware/adware blocker. Although I set it up to allow CJ it still would not allow me to see the site. I uninstalled it and now I can view CJ. Thanks to all for your help. |

Penelope, what security software do you use ... are you running any adblocking software?

| I don't have any ad blocker software on my computer that i know of. This is the only site i can't get into. I am having a problem with a price grabber that grabs my auctions from one site to another. Otherwise, all downloads have been working fine. I just want to sign up as an affiliate but even if i try to enter using different paths, i just can't get in. I can get to the main site but there's just a site map-and nothing that leads me to the affiliate program that i want to sign up for. I did have some software that was supposed to block spyware from coming onto the computer but i deleted it in an attempt to fix this issue. Thanks |

Deleting software doesn't remove it from your computer, you need to uninstall it, and all its components ... You may want to reinstall the software, then uninstall it properly and see if that helps.
Otherwise, you may want to try a forum that specializes in computer tech problems to see if they can help you ... a corrupt hosts file may be one of the issues you need to address there.

There's a host's file where all known, ad and spyware places are blocked by referring them to 127.0.0.1. This means it's pointing back to you. If you want to stop this from happening find it in your c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc hosts file. Open this up, and do a find in the notepad for cj.com linkshare.com and bfast and you'll find the lines you must delete, heck delete all the entries. But I'm sure some are good to keep.
Hope this helps. |
