Modasser,

A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger."

Here is a link to a Blog competition happening at Marketing Sherpa.
Go down the page and you can go through some great Blogs to get the idea of a blog.

Blogs and RRS are a growing trend and a marketing tool to think about. Wink

Marketing Sherpa does allow forwarding of articles so I thought I would post this to give an understanding of Blogs...

Thank you for kind information.

I think It is some kind of private journal, which a person owns contains information on different things.

thanks

mod877,
Or it may be a community of bloggers, invited and set up by a site, like this, where I participate:

Unless access to the blog is passworded, it isn't private at all and available to any who find it.

phil, thanx for the links on blogs from the other forum.

blogs sound interesting but am i missing something? (forgive me) to me, a blog is just another website you have to build and THEN work hard on getting rankings to someone will even see it. i know i am missing something. it just seems as if it is another headache to build a web page called a blog and then have to market that so folks can finally find your original site that you built the blog for...

also, looks like the trend for affiliate marketers are ramping up to market"blog to wealth" ebooks to prey on newbies like me. i see it coming. not bashing it all but i am confused.

Hi Tim,

Most BLOGS are extensions of an already existing website. BLOGS connect you with your web visitors. In the online community, you want to not only achieve new visitors to your website, but to retain them. BLOGS give your visitors a reason to come back and read what you have to say, about your own personal experiences.

BLOGS help users get a feel for the kind of person you are. Once you start to really build that relationship, it becomes very easy to 'suggest' products (with affiliate links) and move sales through.

Bloggers want other bloggers to link to them, so they often quite freely link to other blogs.

I think blogs are suitable for people who love writing and don't see writing a large number of items as a chore.

If it looks like hard work to you, it will be.
