Post subject: CJ problem

| I just tried to login my CJ account and it says "Our records indicate that your account has been deactivated" I haven't received any e-mail from CJ indicating this. I can't find anyway to contact them. The contact info says to login to your account if you have any questions and e-mail. This presents a very large problem since the majority of our affiliates are through CJ. How do I contact CJ? |

Okey Dokie, I got the heads up on my CJ account. Actually, the info is in the agreement, if your account is dormant for a six month period, with no sales, you get canned without any notice!!! So the skinny of the d is, I can apply again but all my affiliate links are dead, no tracking. I have to now go in and remove all CJ affiliate links. Isn't this just wonderful
P.S. I asked CJ why they didn't email me to inform me of this action. He said it was because the email might be considered as spam. Funny, but they never had any problem emailing me with new affiliate offers. I suggested that as a customer courtesy they could offer a way to renew your account as an alternate to de-activation and having to reapply and remove and replace all affiliate links. CJ says when an account is dormant they consider the site abandoned. Do they not check the click-thru? I'm a good mind to take all my business (haha) elsewhere. |

Am I the only one who didn't know that you would be dropped from CJ without any notice after 6 mos in-activity? As a newbie to this venture, I guess I am to blame for not reading the affiliate agreement more thoroughly. I had just posted a thread on "sales non-existant" the irony of the post is little did I know there was more to the story, when I discovered at login to CJ that my account had been deactivated.
Having spent countless hours, weeks and months of searching for affiliates and adding links to our site, I don't have to tell you how discouraging it is to essentially have to start all over replacing affiliate products and links. I'm mad at myself most of all for not knowing the affiliate rules. I'm equally displeased with CJ for not having the option of renewing your account with their merchants. Customer service told me "all I have to do is reapply and replace ALL my links once approved." That's simple enough for them to say, since they don't have to go through the hassle and hours of work doing this.
Six months is not a lot of time for someone new to creating a website to learn a business that takes years of trial and error. So be forewarned, if you're in a similar situation as I, not getting the affiliate sales, you to will be canned.
Well, I guess I'd better get to work. It's not like I don't have anything to do! |

Post subject: trying ppc to generate sales

Charles,
I'm sorry that youv'e got all that extra work - not good news.
I did got it the wrong way round too and did exactly the same as you.
I applied for my cj account then did my brainstorming and keyword research, when I finally picked my 'niche' area I then had to learn about web site design and seo. So by the time my first account expired, fortunately, I had only just developed a few web pages.
I reapplied and carried on building more web pages - BUT - what I also did was to purchase some ppc keywords and generated some sales via a landing page (or direct to the affiliate site via the googlecash method) to keep my cj account active.
Coz, don't forget although you have your website built it takes TIME (usually many months) for it to rank well and get really good traffic from the search engines.
I found that using ppc I generated a little profit, so what turned out to be a temporary stop-gap became quite successful and I now use it all the time to generate further income.
Good luck and God speed with re-newing your site affiliate links.
