Post subject: Click Fraud, the Google Killer from the concern side...
|
|
|
Hi all,
I know there have been a few posts in the past questioning some negative talk on Click Fraud which we agree should Not be talked about for obvious reasons on Allan's forum.
But on the concern side, this subject is being discussed on other forums so I thought some of you may be interested in the subject.

I don't lose any sleep over it.
First, discussions of gloom and doom possibilities in securities filings is just routine. Companies discuss all sorts of possible problems - that limits the possibility of lawsuits from unhappy investors. If everyone actually read security filings of companies, most would keep their money in a jar buried in the backyard.
Second, these articles and postings on message boards can create a perception of mass chaos when it might not be that bad. If you go to any city in the U.S. and watch the local news on television, you'll likely see a report of some drug-related crime. It would be easy for someone to think he should lock himself inside his home and never go outside. But just the opposite is true, 99.9% of the population goes about their daily business just fine.
Third, AdSense & AdWords are relatively new. They will learn how to combat such things as time passes. Who knows how many fraud attempts have already been thwarted that we don't know about?
Finally, I can't do anything about it anyway. It's not that I want to stick my head in the sand and ignore it, but I'll let the geeks at Google use some of that money they are earning to fight this problem.
In the meantime, I've never made so much money so easily. My focus is on expanding what I already have, not worrying about things I have no control over. If my competitors want to spend their time & energy worrying about such things, I'll not stand in their way.

Now I don't have time to fully comment all those posts, but what I can say about them is they are very misleading to say the last.
And btw Phil, those are forum posts, not articles.
On the first link you'll find statements like:
"My first reaction to the notion of Pay Per Click was "You have got to be kidding!"
or
"PPC is one of the biggest advertising scams to hit the internet. It is unfortunate that a company that appears to be as honest as Google offers it."
or
"Studies have shown that most web traffic does NOT come from search engines"
At the second link you'll find that the member Brittany tries to link an Indiatimes article to the ppc fraud regarding Google.
If you'll read the article you'll clearly see that "the growing number of housewives, etc" have actually nothing to do with Google.
E.g. "Clicks are bought to boost number of hits for web ads or online advertisers who are not tracking user location" or "I care only whether to pause 60 seconds or 90 seconds, as money is credited if you stay online for a fixed time"
There are many PPC search engines, but only a few are successful, can you guess why?
Anyone interested can document him(her)self at abestweb.com on how to be successful with Google Adwords and avoid spending him/her life with useless moaning.
So overall I find those posts greatly misleading and wouldn't advise anyone to base his/her opinion on them.
One should not consider though that Adwords PPC fraud is totally inexistent, but should be aware that it is kept under control.
Regards,
John. |

Hello Phil,
The article links at the second forum thread are indeed informative (though should not be taken out of context). My comments refer to the forum posts, many of which appear to draw extreme conclusions.
Of course anyone is free to draw his own conclusions based on any articles, forum posts and his knowledge.
Regards,
John. |

I totally Agree with with what Bobby and John are saying
But there is another very important reason why you want and need to read and follow this kind of stuff.
Because... that's what Idea School is all about.
