I normally try all possible means before listing a complaint, to give the perpetrator a chance to make amends, but I have been ignored, so I feel I have no choice.

I am referring to 1st Search Ranking, by Sumantra Roy.

When I saw that he had relaunched energy into his affiliate program back in May - I thought, great he seems to be back in the saddle.

As many of you probably know, he was the center of attention several months ago in Allan's newsletter, issue 212, "A nice guy disappoints many".

Well, I felt it wise to ask Sumantra in person, just after he had sent out notices to his affiliates that he was offering a summer promotion with his PPC service - a service that I thought would be great if it worked... I thought it wise to hear from him directly that all was in order before I suggested his service to my site visitors and friends.

He responded promply saying that all was ok, that he had resolved all his old problems - great!

Recently here on this forum, I met someone who was interested in SEO work, and we had a private correspondence (I'll call him V - as this is my initiative) - V was hoping that my partners and I could help position his site for some competitive keywords, but we had to kindly refuse for lack of time, so I thought of Sumantra, and suggested that V contact him.

V's response surprised me, and I quote, "well, I have been a customer from 1stseo, never received a visitor, never received a refund, never even received a reply from them on my past inquiries."

This put me in a bad light, so I contacted 1stSearchRanking, asking them to please clarify this situation and resolve this past issue with V -- no response, neither to me nor to V.

So here I am, writing in this complaint corner, hoping that Sumantra sees this, and resolves this issue - I would like to believe in him, but I can't till he does resolve this. I don't mean to dig up old ghosts, but it isn't my fault that there are ghosts to be found...

Most Sincerely,

Timothy Warnock

Hi Timothy

I was informed about your post by Allan.

I am not sure why, but I have checked and re-checked all my Eudora Pro mailboxes and cannot locate any email from you regarding this matter. I used Eudora Pro's Find feature to search for "Timothy Warnock" and the only message that I can find from you was the one you had sent me on the 4th of June in reference to our summer promotion. The only thing that I can think of is that your message was somehow filtered out as a false positive by some of the spam filters that I use to cope with the hundreds of spam messages that I get every day.

I apologize for this because our policy is to respond to every email from customers or affiliates within 24 hours. If you can re-send your email to me, I would be happy to resolve this issue immediately. I will also need to review my spam filters to prevent such false positives from happening in the future.

Regards,
Sumantra Roy.

Sumantra has responded both to me and V and has offered a full refund or an even better service for V (it will be his choice), both promptly and courteously.

It is evident that this particular case somehow fell through the cracks, and I could feel Sumantra's desire to make it right. Any business can make a mistake, but not all businesses make amends with such prompt grace.

Thank you Sumantra, and I wish you continuing success.
