I believe it's an ongoing thing. But, if you aren't earning sufficient money within the first year ($10 commission in 6 months) then you need to take a hard look at your site and your merchants.

I think those that deal with CJ should watch out.
Spend some time at ABestWeb and you will get some not so good comments about them from credible people "I" trust with info to back their claim/opinions.
I certianly use caution when getting involved with merchants that run their aff program with them.
my two cents for what it is worth. _________________ Business Owners Guide to Going Online What every business owner needs to know about going online |

| Sorry for digging this thread back up. But CJ recently just de-activated my account also. I was wondering if other major networks such as Linkshare, ShareASale, etc just de-activate accounts without any such type of warning? Thanks. |

Since I have been working with networks the only two that has ever de-activated my account is Partnerweekly and CJ.
None other ones have de-activated my account, but then I am quite active in these ones. _________________ Affiliate Programs Directory - Over 2,000 Programs

Hi,
I've had my account deactivated twice.
I just signed-up again using a different
email address.
I just went to my welcome CJ email
to check when I last signed up.
Here is their fax...
fax (805-560-0776)
I think you still have to sign-up again.

Yep, just got deactivated myself... and I'd just signed up as an affiliate for a new merchant and have been spending PPC bucks promoting their holiday products!
So, NUMBER ONE, it sure would be nice if CJ would notify us, their customers, that we're about to be deactivated... or that we have BEEN deactivated! Why on earth wouldn't they do this?!?
If I hadn't tried to log on to see if any of the many clickthroughs were resulting in sales (which admittedly I don't do often enough), I'd still be running that campaign and spending apparently totally wasted money.
Number two, what happened to the clickthroughs from my PPC campaign before I stopped it? What if there were sales? Would be nice if I could email them questions about this stuff.
Their customer service is about the worst I've ever seen. You can't use the "Contact Us" without being able to login, and you can't login because you've been deactivated. I was able to work around that (thanks to this thread) and they sent the standard email about why I was deactivated (guess I didn't read that 6 month limit when I signed up). But then I couldn't RESPOND to their email to ask further questions. They say something about assuming the question is answered if I don't respond within 72 hours, but then don't give me an easy way to respond! (I hate calling on the phone, being on hold, yada yada yada... an email option should be provided.)
Now in addition to ending that PPC campaign, I'm going to have to go through all my website affiliate links, find out which ones are managed through CJ, and REMOVE them.
Not gonna go through the trouble of re-signing up with CJ. They obviously aren't interested in my business.
I just started with LinkShare. I hope their customer service is better (haven't needed to test it yet).
Hmmm... maybe I'll email all those CJ affiliates I'll be dropping, tell them why, and suggest they switch to a different affiliate manager. Even if it would be way too much trouble for them to do so, they might at least put some pressure on CJ to make some improvements.
Oh well... I feel a little better now that I've vented, and it's kinda nice to know I'm not the only one in this stupid situation. Thanks for this forum! _________________ Bonnie
