Post subject: James Martell's Affiliate Buzz
|
|
|
Hello,
The purpose of this post here is to talk about the affiliate buzz by James Martell and provide feedback on how the buzz can improve for all of his subscribers.
I'm not here to moan and complain about something while I could be writing some quality content for my sites, but I would like to address this issue because I like the idea of the buzz and I see that it could use some improvement.
In his latest Buzz that came out (edition #21) it almost sounded exactly as one of his previous shows because he talked about the exact same girl, Samantha, and pretty much repeated 10 minutes worth of what was in an older show. I mean he may have forgotten that he already talked about her, which I can understand.. but this is not the main point of what I'm getting to. I just feel that the latest show #21 was a waste of my time.
I'm not sure if most of the Buzz's subscibers are newbies or have been at it for awhile, but what I would like to see in future editions are little tips and tricks that James uses within his sites. I realize that he cannot go into great detail on a specific subject because of time constraints, but he could throw in little ideas that he's using and we can take it for what its worth and try to implement it into our own pages.
I understand that the shows follow this format : inspiration, information and motivation. Which is a pretty good format, but I'm listening mostly for the information, and a little for the motivation. I would love the shows time frame to be similar to this: 5 minutes of inspiration, 20 minutes of information, and 5 minutes of motivation. I crave the info! anything related to affiliate maretking.
A few broad topics to be talked about in the info section of the shows:
1. What google is currently up to / whats going on with google
2. New tips and tricks related to Page Rank, or creating back links
3. Any little new thing that James learns.
Everyone please post what you would like to see improved or what you would like to see become of the affiliate buzz. I hope that once we get somewhat of a disscusion going on this I will present it to James so that he may look over it and consider our thoughts, since we are the subscribers and all. Thanks again for participating.

I concur with what you are saying Adam. For me, the show spends a lot of time talking about complete computer basics, such as alt and tab. I mean there was over 5 minutes spent on explaining shortcuts on the keyboard. I do realize there are a lot of people who are new to computers, however for people like Adam and me, who have worked and grew up in the computing field, we are looking for any hints and tips regarding the actual websites. This is just my thought on this, the show is good, but I am sure James would love to see our suggestions for how the show could be improved. A little too much waffle, and nothing new learnt in the last few shows I have listened to. I think you have a valid point here Adam.
I was going to start a post of my self, but I would rather plug away with content and do things I can control. My experiences are this forum, and actually going away and doing the work are for me, the best learning lessons.
I have personally learnt so much in the past 4 months by just getting out there, and getting some websites uploaded.
I believe you should learn how to use a computer well before you plan on making money from it. I know some people don?t want to learn etc, but the basics are needed and can serve you well, as well as make your progression a lot faster.
James Martell for me, is simply brilliant, the way he has planned his affiliate empire is outstanding. If you study his sites, you can learn a lof, if you have the book, you can start a small virtual estate empire yourself. I think the Buzz should talk more about future developments, giving people a solid plan of action, and like I said previously, discuss more on the actual websites.
Warm regards
Johnny G

Does any other subscribers to the Buzz have any suggestions for the show? I agree with Johnny G about the show being very basic for beginner's. I mean sure there may be a lot of subscribers who are brand new to this, but I'm assuming the majority of people are already comfortable using their pc and would like some more advanced tips and tricks on working on the websites. It's the same for me as well, I haven't learned much of anything within the last couple shows.
All other subscribers, post what you would like to see improved with the Buzz. We are the listeners, we have the biggest say in what should be in the shows. Post your thoughts, Thanks. |

Would you like to post a link to the affiiliate buzz, or provide a brief overview of what it is, for the benefit of those of us who may have heard of it, but don't really know what it is? I would do it myself but I'm one of the ones who doesn't really know what you're referring to. Thanks! _________________ Free Forum And Ezine Hosting

The Affiliate Buzz is an audio newsletter that is put out by James Martell that follows along with his Affiliate eBook. It usually covers a great deal of info in about 20 minutes of chat.
He puts all of the back issues online in the Members Area, so once you subscribe you can download back issues as well as keep up on the current issues.
Subscription fee is $10.00 a month, with 2 issues a month. More information is available through the link in my sig.

Hi folks,
I'm a recent subscriber to the Affiliate Buzz and I just said I'd add my 2 cents to this discussion.
Yes some of the material James discusses is basic material but there's always something of value in there - that's just my opinion.
If you don't like the content then unsubscribe. There's no guns to anybodys head here.
Cheers

I'll throw in my 2 cents and try to be kind ,
After reading the post I had to wait about 3 hours before posting a reply to give myself some time to think through it. So here goes...
| Quote: | | the purpose .... how the buzz can improve for all of his subscribers. |
James puts out the Buzz - communicate with the them. I've posted questions and received a reply
| Quote: | | In his latest Buzz that came out (edition #21) it almost sounded exactly as one of his previous shows because he talked about the exact same girl, Samantha, and pretty much repeated 10 minutes worth of what was in an older show.... I just feel that the latest show #21 was a waste of my time. |
If it wasn't worth your time... unsubscribe. I found value in it. I'm pretty sure he records 2 Buzz's at a time. So it was probably a theme of the shows.
| Quote: | | ... future editions are little tips and tricks that James uses within his sites. I realize that he cannot go into great detail on a specific subject because of time constraints, but he could throw in little ideas that he's using and we can take it for what its worth and try to implement it into our own pages. |
First are you doing EVERYTHING he has covered in the last 21 Buzz's. He gives lots to tips and tricks... you just need to listen and do some reading between the lines. Ask yourself some hard questions, search for answers.
| Quote: | | the shows follow this format : inspiration, information and motivation. Which is a pretty good format, but I'm listening mostly for the information, and a little for the motivation. I would love the shows time frame to be similar to this: 5 minutes of inspiration, 20 minutes of information, and 5 minutes of motivation. I crave the info! |
#21 30 minute shows = 10.5 hours
That's lots of information. There are so many nuggets in the shows if you'll just back up and listen.
What are you doing with all the information he has given you?
How are you applying the information?
It's not information you need - It's your application of it.
Having information and doing something with it are 2 different things.
| Quote: | | 3. Any little new thing that James learns. |
For $10 bucks a month? Bare his soul.. so others can not do any work! Skim off the cream. I can give you a pretty good way to understand James and how he does things.
He's a businessman. Buy his time. Call him on the phone, plunk down $5,000 bucks and ask him any question you want. Then when you're all done, come and share it with all of us. I'll be more than happy to send you $10 for the infomation.
That doesn't sound to smart does it? James is spending $$$ very month. Why should he give it away for $10.
Personally, I find a lot of value in the Buzz just as it is. Would I like James to give me every little step by step piece of info... Nope... You learn by examining things and thinking through it. That's the way you'll truly understand. It's sort of alike all those FREE ebooks you get as a bonus - you won't pay attention to them and apply them.
If James stopped today putting out the Buzz, there is enough stuff in the Buzz to keep you going for the next year. The Manual and the Buzz are a great combo.
James shares much more than most. It is all very practical. Just from reading your post I see one glaring error. How he does what - on his websites. It's not all about websites. It's about business and how you approach it. _________________ Gary

I didn't start this thread to bash the buzz and say it wasn't any good. I really like the buzz and I just felt it was getting a little off direction.
I have listened to all 21 editions of the buzz and I've enjoyed listening in on what James is up to and whats going on. It's just, in the latest edition, it almost sounded as if he was going word by word on what he had said in edition 19. I mean her success story is inspiring to me, its only that I already had heard it. I understand it was probably just by accident that it was repeated.

I do understand, $10 is pretty cheap for the latest tips and tricks he's implementing. If everyone had access to the information then everyone would be doing it, but since he's not giving it all away.. those who stick in their and find out what works the best and such, they will have the advantage.
I am no longer going to try and get James to change his Affiliate Buzz. I now see that it is good as it is, although it can be very basic at times.. and also repetitive, but for $10 a month.. I appreciate what he gives to us to ponder about and work with.
Thanks for your input on this Gary. |

I don?t think he wants to unsubscribe; he was just after a debate on people?s thoughts. I for sure will never unsubscribe as long as it keeps going. My thoughts above are what I would like to see, but then again we have more than enough to be successful, and like speedguide said, the backlog has a wealth of information.
For 10 dollars a month, this is the best show I have ever came across, but as far as the question goes above, that was just some of my opinions. I don?t think anyone is trying to bash the buzz in anyway here. If we were in a position like James, and you can put yourself in his shoes. Then I for sure, can see why he does business the way he does.
Speedguide has been another inspiration for me, just like James, if you read his book, and follow some of his work, you will see what I mean. This is why I listen to his voice very carefully.
Thanks for the advice you have given me about education etc speedguide.
I cannot thank you enough for this.
Warm regards

It's not about bashing...
It's about information, education, and application.
I've listened to each Buzz multiple times - some over 30 - just playing away while I'm working.
For instance - in Buzz #21 - I learned something when he discussed the project for his son - Adam.
Also, Samantha - a quick statement he made
Finally speaking about Yahoo I picked up another one
You may not see the same things I do... and that's what is great. Then I can take the information, educate myself on it and apply it with my own twist.
As I said... there is enough stuff in the first 21 Buzz's to keep you going for a long time. I look forward to it every 2 weeks. Every person is at a different point along the way. What may be basic to some may be new to another.
So here is a quick assignment for Adam & Johnny G - don't reply, just ask yourself. Pull out your list of all the tips you've written down since the first Buzz. How many of the tips have you reviewed, studied and applied to your sites?
If you have any questions - PM me.
I'll close with this - who, what, where, why, when and how _________________ Gary
