I apologise in advance if my question has been answered elsewhere! Here goes, I want to follow the 30 days to internet marketing success. I have read and read tons of info and gathered some very useful info elsewhere. However, I am unclear on a couple of points!
Step one advises to get a domain name, step 2. get a web host (I would like to get the two together?). Steps 3 onwards. autoresponder, ecover tool, research etc, then produce a webpage.
My problem is this.... I didn't think you could get a domain name without a site/web page first to link it too! Please could somebody explain in a bit more detail for me! Bit confused! _________________ Give away Broadband Internet connections with out charging customers

A domain and webhosting are two seperate services. When you buy a domain, all you are doing is paying for the rights to own "whatever.com" for the time span you register for.
Web hosting, on the other hand, is when you pay for space on a webserver to handle serving out webpages, sending and receiving emails, etc.
A (probably bad ) analogy is comparing your domain name to a phone number, and just the phone number. Web hosting is your phone service.
Why it's probably confusing is you can very easily buy both together -- most webhosts offer domain registration for a reasonable fee or include it in their packages. You don't have to buy it from your webhost, however; it just may end up more convinient.
You don't have to link your domain to anything at first, if you just want to grab up a domain to make sure you have it. Most places to register domains offer free "parking" -- which is just pointing your domain at a default page (typically you can't edit it).
Some more featured registrars offer tons of free features -- free email forwarding, free URL forwarding (this lets you just point your domain at any website, for example free webspace your ISP gives you), etc. These can be nice if you just want an email address until you find a real webhost. While providers may offer this, it's really not a part of actually registering a domain -- they're just small extras to entice you to go through them _________________ Low Cost, High Quality Hosting -- free urchin stats, mini-sites available Amusive Communications -- low cost targeted advertising

Instead of choosing hosting, domain, autoresponder etc from different vendors, you could also deal with just one provider. SBI has all you need for starting and running a webproject. Although the initial price looks high, compared with the monthly rates of other service providers it is a good buy. _________________ Explore The Most Up to Date Site About How to Succeed with Adwords!
