Post subject: Link Exchange / Reciprocal Links

I guess a sure way to get higher in page ranking is to be linked in many sites. Having all your sites linked to each other and having friend's sites linked to you is good and all but the motherload would be to have one of the BIG BOYS, manufactureres or Big Names' sites linked to yours.
Have anyone tried to approach some of the big names for a reciprocal link or exchange link? I have tried to email all of my affiliates (mostly sports teams sites) and proposed something like that but failed to get any response from any of them. Im sure a site with links in WarnerBrothers shop or New Line Cinema or Reebok would be placed really high and garner mass traffic. Am I making sense or is this just wishful thinking? |

Hi Rezan,

Making perfect sense, but without a lot of work, ingenuity, and a little bit of luck could be wishful thinking
The expression that springs to mind is "What's in it for them?" Why should megasites like those want to link to you?
You could try providing them with a genuine, unique testimonial, if they publish it with your URL live... Bingo.
Does your site present a unique, new or different way of using their products? They may well be interested in publishing the fact.
Sorry, that's all that I can think of at the moment.
All the best,

Megasites publish good articles. Then they ask for more. My experience.
Write an expert article for your niche. Put it on your site as a page. Then ask if they want to link to it, or publish a copy of it. Works good for me. _________________ DatabaseDesigner
