Post subject: How to attract affiliates - any help appreciated

Hello folks!
I'm a new merchant, trying to find, attract and engage new affiliates, that are specialized in selling cosmetics and/or hair care products.
I just started my affiliate program and so far quite a few affiliates already joined it, but they are all very "general, sale-all" sites, and "coupon aggregators", which is also good, but I think that I need affiliates, that are specialized in cosmetic and hair care sale.
Any advise on how to get such affiliates would be highly appreciated!

My opinion: you just need affiliates that sell. Coupon affiliate are great and more easy to work with ( this until you find super specialized affiliates ).
Also join the big affiliate networks and let affiliates find you.

Thanks AllanGardyne, I've always been wondering about better ways of getting affiliates. Emailing potential affiliates hasn't worked for us at all, we may have approached it all wrong, I'm not sure. It's frustrating emailing them 1 at a time and getting no response after reaching out to many.
We've also tried getting listed in affiliate directories without much response or success there. Kinda frustrating, but we'll keep plugging along. Any further suggestions?

Perhaps the problem is your product, your affiliate program, or your website.
