This is a question for those of you that get your hands dirty with MySQL/PHP freeware ... links exchange software specifically. Smile

I've been searching for a day or two and reviewing a bunch of link exchange manager software, even installed one that looked really nice, until I realized that search engines probably wouldn't follow the links.

Now I see that these software programs seem to come in two flavors:

those that have a x.php?id=some_number

and those that are more like this:

x.php?id=number&url=http://www.somesite.com/

Now, it seems possible that the search engines could follow the second one, but it also seems possible that they couldn't. Interestingly, the second one displays a URL in your browser just as if it were a static link.

Anyone with some experience on this?

SE's don't follow 302 redirect links but there is evidence that Google is now taking anything with a "http://" as a link and following it through the html.

Personally I have not had any good experience with 302 redirects on Google, particularly with link exchanges. They just are not showing up even after months of waiting. Even those that are showing the http in the html of the linked site.

Hi,

I wanted to ask a question about LinkManager and I thought it would be appropriate to put in an existing thread.

Most websites seem to use LinkManager to automate their link exchange process. Does LinkManager only recognize links on the index page / main page of the site?

An affiliate marketer friend of mine told me that if you dont put the links on the main page, then LM would not recognize the links as reciprocal links, and your links will not be displayed on the reciprocating site.
