forum posting is a great way to drive traffic to your website.
they create great backlinks for your site.
another way would be creating backlinks with related sites.
it will be very useful too..

Try SEO, SMM, SEM, quality link building (Forum/Blog commenting) etc. After that google panda thing it is more convenient for quality top dogs to stay at the top and much harder for lousy and non performing niches to climb on top of SERP. This is just to remind us that the name of the game now is quality over quantity so obviously quality will still prevail.

I would recommend social sites: Twitter and Facebook in particular.
For twitter there are automated ways to updated account ... so no extra work form your side.
Just free traffic!
