Post subject: site about European Union - any affiliate programs?
|
|
|
Hi,
I'm creating website about European Union as a political institution.
I don't know if there are any affiliate programs about this topic?
I' thinking about Amazon.com certainly, maybe other bookstores and what else? Surely google adsense.
I hesitate with map-stores, flag-stores and libraries. Waht do you think about it?
If you were on this site, what would you want to see there? Any information about institutions, law in the UE, countries and so on.
Best Regards,
Matt |

Matt, if any part of your site is live, I would test Adsense viability via the free tool at about-adsense.com
Political sites may not be the best venue for Adsense and could result in your seeing a lot of PSA's, worth checking out at least.

I very much doubt there are.
The only monetising ideas that spring to mind are EU law and EU grants. Maybe you could write content in these areas (or get it written) and set up a pay per lead system with lawyers or those firms that help others get grants.
Secondly, how about the imminent (ongoing?) enlargement East? I think this might be a hot(tish) subject in some circles.
All this is based on the assumption that companies are looking for information on the EU. Have you checked this out? What are your competition offering?

So would I. I'm not sure there is a great deal of popular interest from the man in the street. Certainly not the street I live in...

If I were visiting this site, I'd like some sort of game where I could shoot at heads of MEPs. (It's only a game, folks. I'm a responsible middle-aged man, remember.)
Maybe a less threatening alternative, would be where you adopted the ID of your "favourite" MEP and had to eat your way through as many million of your chosen currency in a given time. (You could shovel it into a bottomless pit if you like. The analogy would remain pretty much intact.)
The problem is, however popular it might prove, I'm not sure people would pay to play.
All the best,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."

I don't know if folks would pay to play but I'm double sure that it would be extremely popular.

Perhaps many of your visitors would be university students? Products that would appeal to them?
You're not likely to make a fortune with Amazon, but the books people buy will help show you the subjects that interest your visitors.
Good luck! _________________ Allan Gardyne

| Back to the topic of games, you could have a Trivial Pursuit type quiz, moving from country to country around a map of Europe. Each correct answer could link to an page with an article with more information - an excellent vehicle for AdSense, because, essentially, you could write about almost any topic you want. |
