There are literally hundreds of these affiliate directories so listing your site in them can take some time. In most instances, listing your affiliate program in an affiliate directory is free.
1. 2-tier Affiliate Program Directory
2. Affiliates Directory
3. Affiliate First
4. Affiliateforum.com

Participating in an affiliate program and then getting the most out of your participation involves:

- Selecting the appropriate merchant and affiliate program for your e-business
- Understand the terms of the affiliate agreement
- Add custom links to merchant's site from affiliate Web pages
- Build traffic at affiliate site to increase click-troughs to merchant site.

I also want to sbe successful as an affiliate marketer. Wink

It's as if you didn't even read the post. Read it again. Then again.

Eventually you'll catch on. Your reply is NOT related to the post.

Obviously that you interacting with forums this is good but another way to expose your affiliate program out there is to go pay a visit to AM message boards as well.

I have tried to do directory submission, but most of them require post back link, which is not doable for my eCommerce site. My affiliate program is through CJ, but I found that I still need to promote to get more publishers joining the program.

That's why you spend $10 and pay someone who does it for a living to do it for you. You don't waste time weeding out the useless reciprocal directories.

I get 150 directory submissions for $10.

And I write the title, description, and text. I just pay them to do the grunt work.

It's not worth your time doing directory submissions. I trust the company I work with... but I'd imagine there are freelancers who will do it for even less.

If you were to agree to a post back link for all the directories that ask for it, your site will look like a link farm, and may get penalised

I believe the affiliate marketing programs you choose need to be related to your niche and complimentary to one another. This way, your internet marketing can accommodate all your affiliate products and not have to be unique to each one. Furthermore, your targeted website traffic will already be generally interested in the various offerings on your website or blog.

Affiliate directories, although good are not focused on what particular type of product or service you are trying to sell, many people are not going to be looking for your particular type of product or service in the affiliate directory, they might sign up if they see your link in the directory and it appeals to them, what you want to do is get those who are enthusiasts for your product or service, or who may benefit from using it, you can find them from social networks like twitter, facebook and the like

An affiliate is a person who does not belong to an organization as a member or employee, but he has a relationship with her is important enough to be his own name. With an affiliate program you offer affiliates an incentive to make a certain result. This result may be to generate opportunities for clicks of your business, increase your site or improve sales - a banner, text link, graphic or other means such as a newsletter. The incentive is usually a fee, provided that a fixed rate or a percentage based on the objectives of the affiliate program.
