agree!forum posting is a great way to drive traffic to your website.
they create great backlinks for your site.
another way would be creating backlinks with related sites.

You can increase your PR by getting quality backlinks from relevant websites, this is called link building. PageRank is derived entirely by the back links, but not in quality and relevant link exchange.

Here best information for increase page rank. Get backlinks for your site. There is also one thing that matter a lot in page rank. Its the presence of your major keywords in your web page's content. Your site's content must contain your primary keywords. Your site's content should be keyword rich.

Improve pagerank is not one day activity. If you want to improve it then you should to get more and more backlinks from relevant sites because pagerank depend on backlinks.
